    CB Tuning

Ive come across power supply issues in the past where hard wiring it to the battery always made it kinda wonky. But id always tie it into the twelve volt power supply in the cab and it worked better. The cables are so touchy. If they get pinched in anyway kinked makes them go down hill fast! I...

Whats the best dash cam and why?

Thats how the law is here. And the sole reason ive been wanting one... put it on my back burner too but had a guy cut me off and slam on his brakes cus the guy beside him flipped him off...really smart! Same thing if a car slams into a car and that car rear ends someone and causes a chain...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

The husqvarnas are hard to work on. Everytime we had to work in California they used alot of them. They probably run them on unicorn blood and tears now in cali. Love that snap crackle and pop of a well tuned saw.

    CB Tuning

Those springs are junk. They rust really bad too and make things look gross. Had one on my semi that would wack back an fourth on thd cab. Even a excessive cord will throw off readings. Ive seen some guys mounting them to a front bumper good idea but a lot of steel if its steel.. bad ground of...

    CB Tuning

Most of those fire sticks are trim to tune. Some are adjustable. But thats the hardest part of them is you get very lucky if you can throw one on and go. The cb that i have had it professionally tuned by the cb guy here in loveland ( he disappeared again though). Could reach 10 miles turned up...

Whats the best dash cam and why?

As a career truck driver, I’ve always wanted to put one in the semi but sense I don’t do that anymore. Just gonna put on in the daily driver and swap it back and fourth between that and the adventure rig. Have no idea what the best or even where to start looking. So any 2 cents or change in info...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

Oh cool. Ive always wondered about how water proof that stuff is. I use to have a drill that would zap you here an there. Old one and it wouldnt do it every time but it would catch you off guard. Dont wanna ride that lightning bolt haha

what do you carry your tools in? (ideas and pictures)

I am never organized enough to keep my tools in the box they come in. Bag is the way to go. Might have to pick through sockets to find that unicorn socket but a couple tool bags and your set!

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

@chuckoverland how does that work? I saw dewalt has one that looks pretty neat but. Would think theyd lack power and or pretty delicate.. i normally put mine in a tote box but using it in rain storm or snow if that got wet would cause some problems. As far as kick back it is extremely rare but...

Winch Gloves: You use them Correct?

I like the mechanix gloves too for shooting and just all around work. I dont like a loose fitting glove at all and you can get a pretty good fit with them. Saw a guy get his finger ripped off by getting a loose gloved finger somewhere that if shouldn’t of been. Pulled the finger and tendon along...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

Stihl is the best hands down. Anything larger than a ms170 and your golden. I carried a 446 and a 660 for but those are huge saws on fires. I carry the farmboss on the overland rig. 270 can fall smaller trees with it. Hasquvarna is a good saw! You really get what you pay for when buying them...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

Kickback on a saw in probably the most dangerous. You can have them anytime. Most home use saws are extremely sensitive to this because alot of the chains are just designed for downward cutting. A trail obstacle is different then just cutting firewood or even falling a tree.. that obstacle has...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

I was a Firefighter for US Forest Service and my main job was a sawyer Cutting down hazard trees and clearing trees and brush building fire lines. The right tools and training are a huge must have running a saw! Chaps gloves eye pro...ear pro... chaps god gave you two legs. Two eyes. Hearing...i...

    Tool Box Must Haves?

Think tinkering happens in normal business hours. Unplanned stuff is always in the dark for me. I am a big headlamp guy. But carry a light on my person most of the time and a head lamp is near by for that sort of thing. I tend to go through them alot so i try to find a cheaper good head lamp but...
