    New from Oklahoma

Hey, don't knock your 1500, so far this year I've done the Enchanted Rockies Trail, the Rim Rocker and part of the New Mexico BDR in my GMC 1500.

    Best format for Solo camping?

I had a spot gen 1, then 2, then 3 and was happy with them all but about a year ago went with an InReach Mini, so I understand what you said. In my above post, just wanted to point out another option.

    Alps Aluminum Table

Add me to the ALPS fan club. Have had a large one for a while, it's rock solid, got a smaller one more recently and have been very happy with it. They aren't too expensive either, which is always a plus.

    first trip to Utah

I've driven out to Utah over a couple dozen times and every trip I see something different. I guess what I'm saying is relax, take your time, don't try to see it "all" cause you can't. Just pick a section of the state and hang out there, if you try to see too much you'll spend all your time...

    Best format for Solo camping?

While I agree with what RoarinRow wrote, another option if you don't want a subscription is a PLB, which is basically just a distress option. I carry and inReach for use in non-emergency AND emergency situations and don't mind the subscription costs, but just wanted to toss out another option.

    Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

So I was like, "where's Navina, OK?" and holy crap, it's like 10 minutes from my house. I live at I-35 & Seward. Small world!

    Oklahoma Backroads

I did the Great Plains Trail this past Spring. I specifically did Gloss Mtn loop, Cimarron Loop and Black Kettle Loop. Most sections were dirt roads, the Black Kettle Loop was the most "rustic" section but I really enjoyed all of it. I camped at Canton Lake and did them over two days. Here's...

    Overland Expo Sold!

I went in 2017 and 2018. In both cases, I only paid for a day pass, and the pricing on the website in the comparison chart does not show an increase for the 2019 day pass. The attendance seemed almost double between 2017 and 2018 but that could have all been in my head. I can see where...

    Overland Expo Sold!

I take it as a good sign that the article said, "...we are excited to have Roseann, Jonathan and the original Overland Expo executive team on board to help maintain the original vision of the event.” When you sell your company, you can sell it to someone who thinks they know better and will...

    Just joined from Oklahoma

Hey guys, not really into rock crawling but have spent a lot of time in the backcountry. I have been backpacker for over 25 years and have gotten into some gnarly spots on forest and blm roads and now have upgraded to a Four Wheel Camper for my truck to make life a little easier.
