My 2004 F150 XLT 4x4 coming back into life!

Temperatures are in my favor and progress is being made, again. Had to remove the cage to fiberglass/paint those areas at the cab. Gas filler mounted (still need to fill/sand), deck on (and coated) and wheel wells in progress. Feels good to be moving on this again!

    Meat Cove

Been there and loved the drive into the Cove. I have to say Upper Gaspe' was higher on 'my' list. Camped by 3 lighthouses, spending the afternoon counting the Minke's swimming by.

My 2004 F150 XLT 4x4 coming back into life!

Temperatures are just teasing me right now. Yet has been warm enough to make some progress. Bed is now off and the cage is welded. Wheel wells and move on to closing the walls in. Still a way to go, but progress!

Where are you planning to go?

Our intent this year is to explore closer to home (Nor'east Maritimes) deeper. Have two routes marked out for the Maine Sur & the New Brunswick Sur. Only traveling up just over Fundy National Park on this run.

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Have me curious! What layers do you have open? Can you do a screen shot (if not tell us the area you're looking at)?

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Hovering over we're you are about to snap/click works pretty well to see if it's going to work. Working on back roads/wood roads, you will still get those spots that it just won't fill. What I found (and mentioned to Gaia) is that some of those routes just are not passable (like bridge out or...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I was having issues in several levels of route planning, then as I worked through those I found I was still asking myself questions after the fact. The folders option I found to be very handy. My only disappointment is if you open a folder (laptop) you get a small window to view. Going into full...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Sorry, may not have been clear.. Daily is a file then the multiple files placed into a folder. By this, I have a daily run that I can notate, I know the distance of that run and hopefully easier to deal with as the actual track is made. I'm still playing with all this to work out a system that...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

I've started building my routes by day-runs and placing the day-runs in a folder. This way I have potential dailies and can open the entire route as a folder. Example: route name day 1, route name day2, etc... then folder as route name.

    Solar Power and Overlanding

I have 130W panel and 200ah battery bank thinking I needed all this... I don't. I built a spreadsheet so I could see my usage (at max) and determine what I require. Now my setup will go me close to 10days without recharging, yet we don't stay 10 days anywhere when traveling. We found the we...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

If you're looking to upload routes, then upper right side on my laptop it has a drop down at my name. Upload feature is there. I only remember because I did it a couple days ago... LOL

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

Personally, I picked up a Garmin Glo2 receiver and love it. It better that the onboard receiver in 'my' phone is connected in areas my phone is not. I don't feel just under $100 is too much for the unit. MHO as always

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

The mortality rate, as all are, are based upon only those 'known' infected. This morning's numbers (I deal with US only) show 46,168 known cases and 582 died. That's a 1.26% mortality rate. As I have said (probably here as well), we're not getting accurate information. What I'm saying is, with...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Read yesterday about two states about to use their state parks as quarantine areas. That hit me strange since they closed them so 'we' wouldn't use them for that... All those stated reasons for 'us' not being there, is now, suddenly, gone...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Which is exactly the same with 'any' virus. We (well some anyway) are forgetting this. Use of common sense hygiene during 'any' breakout is important. Then getting 'proper' reporting of the situation. Breathe folks and dawn your gloves. Plastic trash bags, plastic wrap, cloth or leather gloves...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Not even to hit that sort of number World-Wide my friend. Many will contract Covid-19, but unless you fit the criteria, it's less than many others viruses that go around. Please remember, there is no cure/vaccine for many viruses that go around each year (or past years). It's typically the 'herd...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Millions could die from this? Where did you get that from?? Breathe my friend!!! It's all going to be fine!! I am tracking numbers in the US. That was is most important to me (selfish, ya). We're tracking a 1.3% mortality rate with the new testing numbers starting to show. Remember this number...

How has the Covid-19 virus affected your adventures?

Laurits, I respect your age and your knowledge! I find myself concerned about how you're looking at this as being any different than any new 'flu'? I'm only 6yrs behind ya and I'm already on a limited exposure, stay clean and distancing stance so I can get to where you are. I'm pretty healthy...
