I'd go with OEM rotors and EBC pads, either Greenstuff 6000 or Yellowstuff depending on how much weight. The Yellows are way more aggressive than the Greens are are more of towing and heavy braking, you'd probably be OK with the Greens since a bumper and sliders at most add 300lbs.
I've ran...
I've heard mixed reviews about the Trasharoo, seems like there's a steady amount of complaints about the clips breaking and the mesh ripping. I don't own one, but I was looking at them since it looks like you can strap them to a tailgate easily enough. The reviews have me iffy on it though.
I don't know if you watch Dirt Everyday from Motor Trend, but they took a completely stock Renegade over Black Bear pass in Colorado and it make it with a tire puncture. The episode should be on YouTube and it shows that they are a surprisingly capable vehicle.
Question for the Tacoma owners here, what size tires do you run? I have a 3" lift and I'm thinking about 285/75/16 tires but I'm unsure how much they will rub off road. I know some cutting and trimming is required for street driving, I just don't know how much is require for off road driving...
I can't believe how fast OB is growing internationally!
Love everything about Scotland too, my family is from there and I really wish I could go back for a visit.
The biggest issue I've ran into when designing a drawer/sleeping platform was that I was worried with an air mattress I'd be too cramped in the bed of the truck. With the mock up I did, it felt like I was in a coffin since I was so close to the top of the topper and it made me feel...
I can't believe I just saw this, I love Volvo's and this is one of the more interesting builds I've seen. I considered one of these for a long time, but when I went to the Volvo dealer I ended up buying a totally impractical C30 R Design that after driving I fell in love with. Once I put the...
I have a set of Maxtrax that I take with me and a small shovel that I bought at Home Depot. I also have a few tow straps and some heavy duty shackles I bought from a farm store that are rated for some absurdly high amount. That's it though and looking through this thread it looks like a...
I recently moved from Michigan to Utah for a job, it was tough and 6 months later it's still tough. The area is vastly different from the one I left and I'm having a hard time getting used to it, but it's more so because I'm not sure if I really love the job or not. Plus Utah, despite all it's...
Here's mine:
And this is what it was when I was in Michigan, except everyone read it as Turd Taco...it's got to be on Instagram somewhere with the amount of people that took pictures of it
This is our guy, Jango. He's a basenji-terrier mix that we rescued from a shelter. He had a pretty hard life before coming to us and was abused, this has left him with some long lasting trust and fear issues but we work with him all the time. We wanted to give a dog a chance that might not...
I do most of my travel solo since my wife works weird hours and has a hard time getting time off. I've never really seen those GPS messenger things before, but I'm definitely going to research them out, they seems totally worth it.
To echo many of the others, overlanding to me is just exploring and having an adventure, whether that adventure is a week long camping trip or a two hour ride to a little known trail that gives you a good view of something cool. As for the larger goal, I take a page from a rally team that I used...
I haven't actually seen the behavior I'm talking about on this site though, it seems like Overland Bound attracts like-minded members who just want to explore the world and have an adventure no matter what they drive. Looking at the Rigs section of the site shows a pretty good diversity of...
