    Overlanding for Practicality

My wife is not a very big fan of my hobbies, because they cost money. :grinning: While I'm not using this is an excuse to buy cool stuff, I've done some reflection and realized that overlanding as a hobby has a lot of practical aspects to it. A lot of the purchases I've made have practical...

    Sudingusnavy Build Thread

Maybe way, way, way down the road I'll go over to a stick axle. For now, my truck is too new and full of tech to wrap my head around that. LOL

    The Beast (Spaze's E250)

That's some serious air to move! I don't know how long it would take to go from 30 to 80 PSI, I've only done 25 to 30 PSI. It wasn't bad at all. I have seen people put together manifold rigs for these where it handles all four tires at the same time. But again, I have no clue how long it...

Good looking truck! Damn. Makes me wish I didn't have an IFS on my Ranger. :(

    GX470 build..

Nice! When I was shopping for my new Ranger, I was actually cross shopping those used GX's. I figured getting into one of them for the same price with how capable they are with the bonus of the luxury interior wouldn't be a bad thing!

    The Beast (Spaze's E250)

If you're not keen on spending the money on an on-board air system, take a look at the Smittybilt tire inflator. I use the Honey extension on the Google Chrome browser and kept an eye on the prices and got it for $154 (before taxes). It handles airing up tires pretty quickly!

I'm happy for ya and glad you're going to derive a ton of enjoyment from something your mother left for you. Have fun! Remember her when your out on the trails! Congratulations!

    Pots, pans, and dishes...

I'm going to look at getting a set with detachable handles to aid in storing them. You guys also bring up good points in your responses. Thank you all!

In over my head, so I thought I'd reach out for help

My first time out on trails: My second time out on trails: And how I'm sitting today: The point of all of the photos is I learned as I went and I checked out gear and equipment on other people's trucks and on forums like this. I learned I wanted a little more ground clearance, so I did a...

In over my head, so I thought I'd reach out for help

I'd start with the vehicle. Get it out with like minded folks in your area and experience some off-roading. Learn from them and the experience what works and what doesn't work. You don't have to do it all at once. Take it a nibble at a time. I think you will find after a year you have a...

    1995 Mitsubishi Montero LS

I've always liked the Montero! I was disappointed recently... We teach a class called VCQB - Vehicle Close Quarters Combat/Battle. A local junk yard dropped off four vehicles for us to shot at, through, and from all for this class. Afterwards they were going to tote the vehicles over to the...

    Our van build

I'm jealous! My wife hasn't been very supportive of my Ford Ranger project. It's caused some friction around the house.

What should be the first mod

I haven't spent the time reading everyone's responses, so please forgive me if I repeat some items. I'm pretty new to this myself! I decided to prioritize items in a certain order with the eventual goal of being able to get out to do an extended trip away from where I live in Georgia to...

    Pots, pans, and dishes...

I'm in the process of putting together a camp kitchen chuck box, and I'm about to focus on pots, pans, and dishes. Is there any reason I shouldn't use regular houseware items for a camp kitchen? We have some old pots and pans, and my wife has been after me to throw them away. I was...

    Let them eat SPAM!

I tried it in college and hated it. It was a real shame because I was pretty poor, and couldn't waste it. Fast forward all of these years later, and I made a cheeseburger stuffed with SPAM and it was heavenly. I will definitely eat it again...
