These are lessons that are hard to learn. Glad that everything turned out okay in the end.
There is nothing like that feeling of "oh, this is getting crunchy..." to etch a life lesson in ones brain.
Lost Coast Trail trip 2016
One of the dozens of trips to the Mono/Inyo Crater area.
Coyote Flats 2015
Near Devils Peak in Tahoe National Park. Father day trip for the old man.
Wish I could find the fella that bought this from me back in 2011...
I just copy/pasted this from my off topic thread.

Well, it's "that" time of year again.
Yup, the end of year list time.
For my New Years resolution regarding overloading; I plan on upgrading a few key components of the Tacoma.
1. Prinsu rack for the camper shell
2. RTT (most likely a Tepui...
Are you perhaps an engineer by trade? Or a quartermaster? [emoji2]
My wife made fun of me when I made checklists for each individual container for our camping equipment...
Looking good. I would say it's a good call for the BAMF sliders. Mine have been stout and saved me from damage many a time now. If you plan on slick rock with 285's, plan on upping your armor game. Get skid plating as soon as you can. Even mid travel IFS doesn't have the ground clearance really...

I am running the factory 265/75/16 BFG AT's that came with the truck. In my lifespan, I have owned a fair amount of BFG AT's. They are a great tire for the weekend warrior. But don't be fooled by their M/S rating. They blow monkey chunks in the snow. Now. my favorite tire is the Goodyear...
I installed mine in an inconspicuous location. I am not one for sticker or decals. The OB emblem is installed on the top plate of the divers side slider. I plan on ordering another so that there is balance in the force.
If you like Wilderness camping with no services; may I recommend Inyo Craters/Mono Lake area. Some of the most fantastic views and the geology changes, mile after mile.
Great success! Hopefully, we can get a review end of the camping season next year from you. I think I have my wife finally convince that an RTT is the way to go.
