Little Girl the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

With the help of my master craftsman uncle, we worked together to build some rear storage drawers for the FJ. We were going to go light but decided to build it heavy duty since I would most likely attach (at some point) and fridge slide and other things on top of it. So we made it completely...

Primitive Camping around Ouray, CO for FJ Summit in July

Never mind. Just found it. Black Bear pass is apparently so small its just a line on the map with no notation of what road it is. But thank you Google I found it. Says its only 13 miles from Ouray. I can do that.

Primitive Camping around Ouray, CO for FJ Summit in July

I called the Forestry service and they told me that we can camp anywhere in the National Forest. But the problem is with the maps I have looked at it doesn't look like there are any roads that go into the National Forest anywhere close to Ouray. I have found one post that states you can go up...

Primitive Camping around Ouray, CO for FJ Summit in July

So is there anywhere close to stay that is primitive? Trying to keep with tradition and also keep the cost down. Im a city employee and already looking at $1000 plus just for fuel. @ArkansasTerry just wanted to tag you here so that you can keep an eye on this thread also.

    Arkansas Dry Fork Lake

After my wife and had finished up our Dedicated Trash Run, we decided that since we had some daylight left we would go exploring a little around the area. I found on the Gaiagps maps a watershed I had never been to before. It was called Dry Fork Lake. So we took off from the west to check it...

Little Girl the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I was inspired by @Michael who did a hood blackout on his Land Cruiser https://www.overlandbound.com/anti-glare-hood-blackout/ So I decided to do my own on the FJ. I have been teetering back and forth about doing this to the whole rig, so I figured why not do a trial run on the hood to see...

Little Girl the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I forgot to post this earlier. I purchased some non-traditional on board air for the FJ. The reason I purchased this is that you can get so many different things to run off of the Ridgid Batteries that are sold at Home Depot. Here is a review that I did on the little battery powered air...
