Last weekend I joined 33 other Subarus on a 3 day trail ride/overland adventure. Some beginners, some experienced, stock vehicles, to built offroad rigs. This pic is 6440, hooking up 6444’s car to tow 6894 out after a broken axle stopped his progress. A 2.5 hour parts run, and some campsite...
Half the fun of overlanding with friends is meeting all the dogs! This is Shelby the adventure boxer. She loves riding in our rig and meeting and sniffing everyone and everything.
I love Tacomas, but have only driven a few. I'm 6'1", but all my height is in my torso, 28" inseam, so short legs. I had some trouble getting into the truck, with the taller floor, then I was only about 1/2" from the ceiling. Comfortwise I was fine, but the height concerned me enough to question...
As many tortilla based meals as we can figure out. Some kind of tacos, fajitas, or quesadillas are a staple. Sometimes breakfast burritos with eggs, sausage, and cheese too. Tortillas make for easy cleanup, and fare better in the food box than bread or buns.
Welcome from another Subaru owner. I definitely dig the Foz Sports. I have a Forester, but it's a 2000, so not even the same car really. Our adventure mobile is a 2010 Outback, and my wife's daily is a 2020 Ascent. Have fun in the new rig! There are a few Subie threads in the Rigs section, be...
Welcome from WI, and another Subaru owner. I've got 3 at the moment, but have had 6 total. I've been amazed at the places our Outback has taken us. There are a few Subie threads in the Rigs section, be sure to check that out.
Welcome from another Subaru addict! I've got 3 at the moment, and have had 3 others in the past. I've seen a number of cars like yours do some amazing things offroad. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to look up MtnRoo as well. It's an international group of offroad Subaru enthusiasts. There...
Welcome from WI! Good looking truck. I sold Ford for a few years and got spoiled driving around new trucks all the time. I love my Outback, but one of these days I need something like that.
Welcome from WI. It's not about the vehicle, it's about the adventure. With the offroad Subaru group I'm a part of we have all kinds of cars you wouldn't expect out offroading and exploring.
Welcome! Great looking rig. Here's hoping you can get unstuck soon, but I hear there is plenty to explore in Canada while you are there. Keep it shiny side up!
Ok kids. I'm planning on doing a Lake Superior loop next spring/summer hopefully. I've looked into the requirements to get us, the dog, and the vehicle in and out of Canada. I also did a search on what firearms I can take in. Sadly it looks like I can not take any handgun, which sucks, but it...
Thanks for this! I downloaded the guide and resources from the circle tour link. We just had the thought of doing this trip recently, so I haven't really started planning, and this helps a lot. We may get off the beaten path, but it gives me a great starting point. I'm only a few hours from...
Just lifted our 2010 last night. Even bone stock we did a 1400 mile 4 day trip with no issues. Between the 2/2.5” lift and bigger tires she is set up pretty well now for anything we can get to in the area. I love the OBs, had a 2001 manual until it ate a rod bearing. We’ve had this one for about...
We were exploring about an hour northeast of Escanaba in September and ran into a DNR officer. I asked if there were any roads/trails we should stay off of, or avoid the ATV trails. He said if we can make it, and it's not a private driveway we were good to go. I think they are generally pretty...
There are no actual pics of the new Broncos out. There are some concept pics from older designs that keep getting posted as "leaked" Broncos. The "baby Bronco" has had one pic released, but that's a totally different vehicle, with no release date. The pic below is the only picture released of...
I get what you are saying, and in some respects agree. I would say that I would help recover the vehicle however necessary, trying to stay on trail first, and moving off if needed. But it would be a teachable moment for the one who drove off trail (not going to do that again are you?). As Dock...
