Thanks for the link.
I totally get my dad's POV as well, and agree that they lost their way a bit. That being said, since the acquisition of the brand by Chinese holding company Geely, and with Thomas Inglath on board as VP of design, I think things have taken a turn for the better and they are...
Those are great shots!
Can you link me to the full review plz?
And FWIW I grew up in an Amazon, 240 sedan, 850 wagon, and V70 consecutively. There were no non-Volvo's allowed during my childhood, and my mother has continued the Volvo streak, while my father has abandoned the brand as he thinks...
This looks amazing and perfect for a "light-Duty" overlander like my lifted XC70. Really into this idea. I've been dying to explore some of he trails and class IV roads in VT.

It's funny, I never intended for it to go down this path at all. It was only when I sold my first-gen 4Runner after having our second kid that the possibilities dawned on me.
Glad you're enjoying the build!

Got The Adventure Wagon[emoji769] back Saturday afternoon with its new XC90 axles, and I have to say, it looks, feels, and handles like an entirely new vehicle!
Flex game is CRAZY now; it's really unbelievable.... [emoji1377][emoji1377][emoji1377]

I'm a professional photographer but I work in a very different area than I play so to speak.
I shoot architectural interiors and have made a couple mini-docs about fabrication and industrial finishing. But I've always enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle, and through overlanding and my enduring...
Other than the fact that the title totally misled me, this is fantastic stuff! Love to see a build thread done right: solid write-ups, copious pictures, and stellar image quality whether you're shooting your truck in the sunset, or a fucking leaf spring [emoji23].
Not to mention you've...
Camping season prep continues....
Last night I had a chance to mount the recently-arrived ARB 2000 Touring Awning on my Fourtreks Modular Awning Mounts
. I purchased the mounts used from a fellow Overland Bound member and they arrived in great shape. They are perfect for the Yakima Loadwarrior...
Great photos! Looks like a fun trip. I get so jealous of the west coast landscape sometimes.
My ARB 2000 just arrived Friday too! Excited to Install it along with the Fourtreks mounts I got from Steve.
When I lifted the tube to bring it inside it was waaaaay heavier than I expected. Maybe my...

Thanks, Steve! Should be some more "likeables" in the not-so-distant future as me and a couple other wagons are headed to Bald Eagle State Forest in PA for some camping, trail riding, and a car show. Good times ahead, I hope.

In preparation for the first trip of camping season, a ton of stuff has been going on behind the scenes. With the help of a soft-spoken southern gentleman, I have been able to secure some axles from the XC90 2.5T that are apparently ready for plug-n-play duty on my XC70. Highest praise be to...
Depends, I think.
Soft case seems more likely to potentially snag on low-hanging branches and brush where the aluminum hard case might slide by, though the later will take some scrapes in the process, but that's life.
As far as a direct hit from a medium-to-large branch goes, it's hard to say...
So after a helpful back-and-forth with Paul at Equipt I've decided not to go with the Eezi-Awn.
While a black aluminum hardcase awning certainly appeals, it looks like I'd have to buy a set of their proprietary brackets (meant to work with the accompanying rack system) custom drill them out...
