Oh boy, I need to change my status to a "maybe going". My rig is in the shop with bad wheel bearings on one wheel. Being an import, the new bearings need to be ordered from Cruiser Outfitters in Utah. It may not be ready by this weekend. I'll let you know.
@RedLeg I would be happy to show you guys around the area on Sunday. There is a nice trail up to an antenna farm that has a great view. I also know of a waterfall that has about 5 to 6 tiers and some cool pools.
We could go back to the same place to camp or find a different one. Plenty of spots...
I saw that too and almost bought it! My wife says overlanding is just "Guys Bloomingdale's".
Your advice about not doing anything new right before a big trip is good. I used to race ironman triathlons and we had the same rule. I broke that rule once and ended up in the hospital when I tried the...
Yeah, I have to resist putting too much stuff in it. The old LandCruiser door mounted wheels have a tendency to fall off with too big a tire. My 33s should be fine.
Another brand of spare tire sack that I would consider is the All-top. Trasharoos are really going up in price on Amazon...
Just saw this. Too late, I have plans this weekend. Send out invites to the local members next time you create a rally point. Thanks for setting this up and cleaning the trails!
@armyRN , I have a few questions that haven't been asked yet. (Unless I missed them) It would be good to set a policy now so we won't need to discuss on the trail.
What will the procedure be if someone has a breakdown and needs a repair that can't be fixed same-day? Will the group wait for the...
Oh, I heard back from Sam about the waypoints.
"Tom... There is not any waypoint on the SOR...Food Gas Motels are easy to find. Just plan your ride before you start
Sam"
Thanks @armyRN for not enabling bad behavior! Huge pet peeve of mine when meeting organizer waits for everyone to join. Way to punish people who follow directions!
I volunteer to be the tailgunner. I have lots of experience riding in convoys and a 50 watt HAM radio (I am a licensed HAM) so...
Swwet ride! I am in the process of building up a 70 series for the trip. Can't wait to see your final build.
Right-hand drive '94 LandCruiser KZJ78W with the infamous 1KZ-TE turbo diesel that Top Gear couldn't kill.
New OME suspension and lift
ARB front and rear bumpers
ARB Solis LED lights...
Hey everyone, if we need to stealth camp, we can work together, lock stuff on the roof racks and accommodate everybody in vehicles. I'm planning on sleeping in my LandCruiser and would have room for a second person if I put a couple of crates on the roof for the night. It's always an option to...
I use the Garmin Inreach with the Earthmate app. I uploaded the TAT GPX files into it. There are a ton of waypoints for stores, hotels, grocery stores etc. Pretty thorough. I also use IOverlander, freecampsites.net and Gaia to find overnight accommodations.
I have an active subscription to...
Hi everyone. I just stumbled upon this rally point and after asking the boss if I could go, I RSVP'd. My first vehicle was a 1989 4Runner that I added a soft top from JC Whitney to. Then lots of life. Now at 55 I've come full circle. I just imported my second JDM vehicle, a 1994 70 series diesel...
All of these spots are off Forest road 95 west of Stokesville campground.
The third one is up a dirt road that you access at the Todd lake campground.

You have to invite me though. I also have a really cool one near...
