Welcome Etool711, I have a 2000 Jeep XJ but if I were starting from scratch I would look for a Land Cruiser. They are reliable, have great aftermarket support and have plenty of cargo space and load capacity for your build. You can go as mild or as wild as you want or as your budget allows.
I haven’t in the past but think it’s a great idea. I do keep a folder with receipts for everything I’ve done to my XJ.

Welcome Parker. I'm sure you will honor your Dad well! I've got a 2000 XJ and ride a 2013 Husqvarna TE 310 and a 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 which I'm planning on taking on some adventures once the weather clears up.
It was cold, windy and rainy but we still had a great turn out today! I can't wait to get together with members of this group to do some Overlanding! Thanks to ARB for opening up their facilities for our use!
