I'll be there, possibly camping. The hill climb from my memory, which is somewhat foggy, can range between 2-4hrs. Followed by another 2-3hrs of relatively flat land trails that leads out to the BRP at Bald Mountain. There are several tangents that can be explored with campsites on a few. One of...

Hey y'all, the Big Levels trails are a lot of fun. It's been a while since I've been up there, but I used to run around up there in a stock Tacoma on 31-10.50's. I always found the climb to be the most fun. Starting on coal road 42 end heading towards the BR parkway. There are multiple options...
Sorry guys I dropped into the abyss for a week, phone crashed, home desktop has too many issues. Hope y'all have a good ride today. Hopefully I can make next meet up.

What kind of shoes did your come with... When I bought one back in 97 they were Dunlop junk, I only got 25000ish miles before I put some BFG AT. Those lasted just shy of 80000ish. I never had an issue in any situation/terrain. Also what year and body did you get?

How did your Covington to Staunton ride go? I'm interested in something. There is also some fun roads in the Bald [emoji558] Green Pond area. Years ago I would start at the bottom of the hill, off of CR42 I think it is FS162, and follow the fire break that runs almost straight up the mountain...
No experience with Traveller but a quick search brought up a 10K Smittybuilt winch for $399 @ 4Wheel Parts. I'll But having the brick and mortar store to return to may have advantages over an online purchase. I think my personal choice would be the Smitty winch.

I'm good for the 10th and 17th ... 3rd and 24th are already planned. I'm also waiting on a new Gazetteer, the show more detail on access, unimproved and FS roads. Anyone have suggestions for roads/trails to roll on?
