I am also am a mosquito magnet, Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria was the worse for me. Tried everything I could get my hands on, nothing seemed to work very long.

Only periodic maintenance, I don't leave any kind of trail my wife can follow and find out how much I really spend. Ha ha

I have lost Comet, Kenwood, and Diamond antennas in the past. Washboard roads loosen them up fast. I now carry 2 spares and they are cheap Tram antennas. The one on my jeep has stayed put the longest and I check it periodically. Today at work I lost the element on my dual band coming down from...
I have the obox for the 6+, only issue is rain gets under screen cover at the forward facing camera. Other than that it has done its job. Have had it for a few years now and dropped it countless times.

I bit the bullet and bought the InReach. Actually use if for work also. I can link it to my iPhone, iPad for messaging, just can’t use it for gps on WiFi iPad.

I cannot use the gps on the inreach explorer+ with my iPad. I have a Dual that works, but cannot figure out how to make the inreach work.

Haven’t been to New Idria in years. Looks the same. There used to be some pretty sketchy people around there. I do drive Panoche Road once in a while. The Panoche Inn is a great place to stop if it hasn’t been sold.

My travel trailer has the same info on a sticker by the door.

I still have a CB in the Jeep and work truck. They are there mainly for getting traffic/road conditions. You have to filter through the truckers banter, and if you have young ones with you or foul language is an issue you might want to stay clear of certain channels.

At the end of the evening the last thing I do is turn on a light right outside of my tent or trailer which ever I’m using to draw the bugs out of the inside. It helps.

I had one on my F150 4x4, it dug in at even the slightest approach angle. I put a small 2" budget lift that helped some. It was for a Warn winch I had. If I mounted the winch on the front receiver it stuck out too far even shallow dry wash crossings.

I bought a no name tailgate table for my jeep. The picture looked just just like the big name version. When I opened the box it was exactly the same and actually had the name brand on the instructions. And at 1/4 of the cost.
