I camped there almost two years ago, around February I think, the low was 6° in the morning and we had 30° bags! The Mr. Buddy heater was running full bore! great established spot!
I just got back from a trip through Hurricane Creek, we saw a lot of stock trucks going through but we only went in to camp and back out the same way. I've heard that there are some hairy sections on up the trail but haven't been through in at least 5 years.
Hey guys! Has a schedule been set for this yet? I was just thinking about cruising down from Asheville to check it out. Don't know what camping is looking like at this point. What are the trails like? I haven't had my burb out on trails yet so I don't know how it will fit or handle.
Definitely...
Like Lanlubber said the 285 will have a bigger footprint, especially aired down.
The 285 being taller may rub on bumpers or fender liners, and because of its width it may interfere with sway bars, suspension, or steering components. It's hard to say whether it will or not without actually...
The Falken T rated tire is a standard load range tire. The S rated is a 10 ply rated, load range E. There's also a Q rated 6PR load range C.
My diesel suburban has the load range E AT3Ws because of its weight and the trailer I pull. Depending on the weight of your truck I would choose one of...
This is a little backwards. The 285/70R17 is 285MM wide, and the sidewalls are 70% of that (200MM) in height, and 17 is the wheel diameter.
I run the 285/70R17 AT3W on my suburban in the 10 ply rating, load range E. I love them! The new Cooper AT3s are not getting a ton of good reviews around...
Another little update!
Got my tablet mount in today and installed it after work.
Removed the center console and seat to inspect under the carpet before mounting the base.
Installed and holding the iPad. Pretty happy with the location. It's definitely not the most sturdy but for $30 I sure...
What a fantastic read! The attention to detail, the well thought out application, and the beautiful custom work are all totally stunning! The trip though, what a dream! Makes me want to stop everything and take off on an adventure! I love where I live now, but I sure do miss the NW where all the...
I considered doing flags on my side windows but the pledge decal was a freebie when my buddy gave up his H2 so I reckon it will be sufficient. Leaves my big glass for my little stickers!
Out of curiosity, are all of these tires the same ply rating or load range?
My 285/70/17s are 10PR load range E and 58.9 lbs. Falken offers the same size tire in a P-Metric as opposed to my LT, in a 4PR standard load at 50.5 lbs or 6PR load range C that is 62.8 lbs.
Welcome from Asheville! I'm moving to Johnson City soon but I hope to see you around! I'm glad you enjoyed your time down at Uwharrie, I have yet to make it there but hope to soon!
