That’s part of my problem. I really don’t want air bags. And I have on board air already. I’ve thought about the mini pack from carli that just replaces the great big thick spring that doesn’t flex.
I may have to start piecing together the kit I want. I had the ok from the wife to buy it all not too long ago. Problem is my cheap ass has a hard time spending that much when what I have hasn’t let me down yet. But if it rides that much better, it is hard not to consider.
Lol. Gotta improvise when you don’t have a place to work on things. I’ve built transmissions in bath tubs and heated exhaust manifolds in a kitchen oven so they could be brazed together.
Show off the bed box. I may be building one of those in the near future. I’ve read just about every thread...
I’ve been looking at their rear leafs but I need to talk to them first and figure out what it will do to my towing capacity. I can’t wait to see what the sway bar does. It may make up my mind for me on the coils and leafs. One of these days I will need to get a new tow rig.
I have to jump on the fiskars band wagon. I have the camp hatchet, camp axe and splitting maul. The are very light but swing heavy. And if you do manage to break one their customer service is top notch.
DIY stuff tends to impress me more than something bought and bolted on. It looks like a good setup that will take you every where you want to go. I would use the hell out of it the way it is.
Must do - get out learn what your rig is capable of. Have a great time doing it.
Must haves - camping gear, extra water, and whatever you want to have when you get where you’re going : hiking boots, fishing poles - whatever it is that you enjoy doing. Go a lot and then get what you need to...
I get that. I’ve been told I am quick to over react. I like calling out the hypocrites. I will probably never leave North America. I continue to make as many camping trips as my days off, and other obligations, allow. I’ll keep using the majority of my vacation every fall trying to keep my...
The definition of elitist is the exclusion of others for not meeting a set criteria. I just discovered the overland journal podcast the other day. Same exact topic was being discussed. 1 of the 2 guys on there proceeds to say “ you’re not an overlander unless you’ve been international for a...
A lot of these changes stem from a huge shift in the way people camp and the surge in the numbers of people camping. There’s a place here in Nevada that I used to love going. It was never hard to get to. It is steep narrow and lots of winding curves. Lower campground was established for camp...
That is clean. Your build is the direction I wanted mine to go. Mine just spiraled out of control. Now there’s nothing jeep left except the frame and body.
People claim to see the Tasmanian tiger and science says they’ve been extinct for 80 years. Same blurry pictures is all we get. The guys on tv chasing Bigfoot... have an awesome job. Let’s go to the mountains, which may be a hiking trail at the local park. We’ll do everything possible to ensure...
I’m taking my wife to visit her grandparents in Beaver Dam, Arizona. Grandma is 92 and not likely to want to do too much. But grandpa being a few years younger still likes to go play in the desert. I’ve been kind of looking at different places on google earth that are fairly close. I don’t think...
I had 50-55k on my dodge when the first one went. Over half of my miles to date are dirt road. It’s had 35s on it since it was 2 weeks old. The other side started getting noisy at 65. I put the dynatrac free sown kit on mine when the second one started going. By far it is the best upgrade I have...
For the longest time I didn’t want an ar just because of the attention around them. I was sitting in a gun shop one day and I owned something comparable to everything on the wall. I couldn’t justify buying a single firearm that day. I started to walk out and saw a rack with a couple of ar15s...
