On the fence - push me over: buy or build a skottle?

I just wanted something new. I have a nice 18" carbon steel paella pan that gets plenty of use. The different shape of the disc has interested me. It has a very slight dish about 6 inches in diameter in the center and the rest is just like the others posted in this thread.

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

"The right to keep and bear arms... Shall not be infringed." The Constitution was written in such a way as to infer that we already had the right to arms and they had no power to infringe upon it. But governments gonna do what governments do best, and that is control and tax.

    Your one "must have"

I don't really leave the beaten path but I have a 30' recovery strap and a shovel in the back always. The strap comes in handy quite a bit around my property and helping neighbors.

    DIY Trailer Concept

There will be laws regarding this. I can't speak to Minnesota, but in Washington you would not need an RV title because the trailer is not primarily intended to be a camper unless it is bolted down. If straps are used to secure it the shelter is considered temporary. According to RCW 46.70.011...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

My preferred defense against 4-legged critters is a 12 gauge with 3 inch slugs. For the 2-legged variety it is either 7.62x39 or 9mm. I don't care how big your balls are. You can't swing them like a mace.

    Thinking of a Nissan Xterra

Their only issues were with the combination coolers mixing atf and coolant. The VQ engine is very reliable.

    2013 Jeep JK axle upgrades.

Perfect. You are going to have a bullet proof drivetrain. One thing to keep an eye on is for fluid in and around the transmission electrical connector. There is two o-rings on there and when they leak weird things can happen. Cheap and easy fix.

    Your one "must have"

That has become the norm. If you pay with cash they have no way of charging you for incidentals or damage.

    2013 Jeep JK axle upgrades.

What rear axle shafts are you going to use? I've replaced quite a few on stock JKU Sports that were bent. All OEM.

    Mountain House Meals

Yesterday the wife, kid, and I took a short hike to the Nooksack River up above the snow line to play around. I took my Trangia cook kit and Mountain House beef stew. With a bit of Tobasco and salt it was really good. I love wild cooking with fresh ingredients, but sometimes it just isn't...
