Hello everyone!
Turning to Overland Bound as I really, REALLY don't want to bay $175 per wheel plus shipping to get the new wheels for our teardrop trailer.
I need 3 or 4 wheels from an 80 series land cruiser. Specifically, I'm looking for the ones pictured.
I'm also looking for rock sliders...
For those that are doing dispersed camping in the forest, are we trying to get in the same area? Do we know who’s heading that up? I probably won’t roll in until late afternoon Thursday
This is easily the most responded-to thread I've ever started anywhere...
Love the replies and really appreciate the input, everyone! Lots of great information to consider and plenty to keep me busy, though I'm not sure it's made my brain less melty...
@Ozzie H : I have glanced at Bivouac but...
Wow. There are SO MANY TRAILER MANUFACTURERS.....
I'll admit, I hadn't really gone into lengthy consideration of a tear drop. When my wife and I were first considering a regular 'ol camper several years ago, the T@b trailers where what we were looking at. The issue we ran into with camping was...
Thanks for taking the time to respond guys!
We are leaning heavily towards checking out the offerings at the expo and going from there. The downside is that we really want one for our trip at the end of June, as that will be the longest we've ever been camping and it would be great to not get...
Hello Overland family!
My wife and I have decided to get into an overland trailer to make adventuring a bit easier all around. The idea is that we can haul the trailer to hard-to-reach areas, then establish base camp, unhook and continue exploring without the trailer.
The issue is that we...
Thanks for the greetings guys (and sorry for the delayed reply!)
Kilo (my new nickname for you!)- I look forward to meeting you and definitley hope to get driving sometime!
Kuhn- Yeah, the wife and I like it out here too. We were originally planning on moving back to Tennessee after she gets...
Those are good points. As far as the rig goes, I am going to try and keep it as ‘light’ as possible. The ultimate goal will be to have a trailer for the actual camping equipment, but for now I guess I need to have everything on the rig.
We have a RTT, and I’m thinking of selling it for a...
So we've got our rig and we've got it working solidly. Now the process of actually building it can begin, but as we won't be dropping $10k at one time, we have to decide what parts to start with.
So that brings me to my question- where did you guys start your builds, and why?
Here are my...
Thanks for all the input guys!
I think my VERY immediate plan will be to put the spare back under the rear.
I plan to make a platform setup for storage in the back after I remove the third row seats. The lower part will be a couple of drawers, one of which will (hopefully) hold the spare and...
There's a lot of pretty good looking dispersed camping spots just off of 191 before you get to Moab on Willow Springs Road. It's a pretty nice 4x4 road that actually heads into Arches NP, and I feel like it would be a great central location for a weekend trip as you can head into Arches (either...
so I’ve been going back and forth on this, and I’d love to get peoples opinions, especially if you’ve actually had to get spares out of both locations!
Trying to decide on rear bumpers, and I’m wondering if I should mount the spare on the rear bumper or put it in a basket up top. Either way, I...
So just registered for the expo, and registration seems to happen in numerical order based on when you registered, so the first people to register get first dibs on classes. Here's hoping some of the recovery classes are still open when it's my turn!
I hear you man! Lots of good classes, and I’ve made the decision to not put anything on the truck that I don’t know how to properly use (as novel an idea s that is), so I gotta take me some recovery courses!
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd pitch in here. would love some insight into adventure trailers as a whole. My wife and I were looking at a Conquerer 390, but they are expensive and I was wanting o be sure before we dropped the coin on one. Also, I know that there are other...
