No I am acting like a capitalist. Sometimes the name brand is worth the money and offers the value I am looking for sometimes they don't. Some days the cheapest is what I need other times quality is what I need.

It is called free markets and competition. Necessity is the mother of innovation and competition drives down prices. As consumers we have the right to spend or money however we wish. Some seek value, others seek performance, while other sell to support a brand.

You can have anything one of three ways. Good and fast, fast and cheap, or cheap and good. You can't get all three. I have been called selectively cheap because I pinch pennies right up to the point when a item/product has to meet a certain set of specifications.
So what have I found that is...
So my only question is do you not miss the back-up camera? I thought about the swing gate then it occurred to me that the spare tire would block the camera.
Tire size is actually pretty simple. The first number is the width of the tire in mm, the second is aspect ratio (side wall relative to width), and the third is rim diameter. Two things are important when picking a tire. First and foremost is tread pattern. This will not only determine the...
Attitude really? I asked a question you didn't have to bother. Anyway moving on. Thank you for the information, it helps. Like I said 35s w/o fender modification is the goal. I can live with the stock width and I really doubt I'll go wider then 10".
A good set of AT tires will get most people anywhere they want to go. Some guys live on mud tires, but few actually need them. Personally I am a Mickey Thompson and Nitto fan. I have had several sets Nittos and have been exceptionally happy with them. I was talked into Mickey Thompsons for...
I never said I needed or wanted a 6 inch lift. I am after a 4 inch lift. That gives me enough to get 35 inch tires underneath the truck w/o much in the way of fender modification if any. And of course the added benefit of better angles all the way around.
What vehicle so you have? Bigger tires my require lift kit. Do you want on board air or a portable solution? Recovery great is simple but one needs shakles, recover strap, tow strap, snatch block, and dapper at minimum.

Yeah I typically have my pistol as well. But as a rule of thumb when in the woods I prefer a long gun. Which one is always the question before I leave home.
A shotgun is one of the most versatile woods guns in existence. I don't hesitate to take mine. Also they often avoid the stupid laws in the less free states.
Nice to find a group of fellow stargazers. Amazing views of the night sky help to fuel my adventures. Anyway what kind of setups are ya'll running? Personally I think with today tech a smart phone and adapter are all one needs. I tried my D3100 and found the setup to be excessively heavy and...
So a couple places in Wyoming that are less known but beautiful are Flamming Gorge, The Snowy Range, and the North Platte River (one of the most productive fisheries in the country)

I still have an old Nikon point and shoot for something quick and portable, a Nikon D3100 for when I am after some really good still photography shots, and I am currently running a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 for my smart phone. I will be adding a GoPro and one more digital camcorder of unknown...
