Ground tent for me. I can get everything I need for two days in a backpack. Toss a couple backpacks in the back of the LJ and I'm good to go. Plus I already have three ground tents from scouting and tent camping trips. We also have a 4x4 Ram with a 9 foot Lance which is a great base camp...

I run Viking 3/8 by 125 feet rated for better than 18000 pounds which more than my 8000 pound which will do with a snatch block. $370. I would be very skeptical of discount lines. Sent from my iPad using OB Talk

I run a Garmin 60 csx which I use for hiking. I use a windshield suction cup device for mounting. The Garmin is great..the suction device is poor. I really like the Garmin but I'm ready for a bigger screen. Probably going to the Magellan Trx in a few months Sent from my iPad using OB Talk

Great thread. I run a Yaesu FTM 400XD (mobile) in the Jeep and have a Yaesu VX-6R (handheld) for the co-pilot or to leave at base camp.

Did some night Jeeping between French Meadows Reservoir and Hell Reservoir over the weekend of August 5th. Had to try out the new light set up. There are some great Jeep trails beyond Chipmunk Ridge. Some of the trails are blocked by large trees, some are now passable as I winch some small...
