That's kinda why I decided to do it in plasti dip. I know if I didn't like it in vinyl it could have easily been removed but a $300 risk I didn't want to take. The dip is actually pretty damn durable but having painted for years the lack of clean edges wears on me. A $25 dollar risk was a whole...
There's all kinds of pics in the build thread but this is all i got today
I laid it out with fine line tape but the plasti dip doesn't leave as clean an edge as when I use tape
This isn't hard to do. materials were around $25. IDK what vehicle you have but could take more or less materials. If you want to do it and need a hand I can try and help
Kinda hoping it takes some sun glare away. It hasn't been bad but any is annoying. I may leave the dip on there as it's kinda rubber coating protaction IDK we will see
Wow this place is dead. I spent the afternoon working on the truck. Fixed the underhood lighting and a pod light bracket. Then I did something I have been wanting to try. I blacked out the center section of the hood. I used a peelable paint for now so if I don't like it I can peel it off but if...
So I did something today I have been wanting to try for a while. I blacked out the center section of the hood. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it so I did it with plasti dip. If I like it I’ll peel that off and paint it with semi gloss
CAB MOUNT CHOP:
This is, I believe, primarily a tacoma thing. The cab mount protrudes into the wheel well and any tire 285 or larger typically requires a chop or a relocate.
For a 33" tire i.e. 285 typically only th face of the cab mount is removed and a new plate welded in relocated rearward...
REAR SUSPENSION:
I started with Wheeler's 3 leaf progressive AAL and Bilstein 5125's. I still have them they will be for sale. Starting to pull the camper and with the addition of the steel rear bumper with dual swingouts i deemed it neccessary to upgrade.
Deaver stage III leaf packs- - they...
FRONT SUSPENSION:
Bilstein 5100's set on "0"
Eibach 2.5" lift 600# coils
3/8" tophat spacer on driver's side
1/4" tophat spacer on passenger side
Wheeler's Super Bumps
Camburg ball joint UCA"s
Yes I am still running the sway bar. It makes it a bit rougher off road but pulling the camper i...
Nope that sounds like an epic trip! In March I was terminated from my job for an injury I got working there and had to find a new job. At the samw time my father in law had a massive stroke that has left him paralyzed and we have been dealing with that ever since. I just didn't feel good about...
I'm especially that way with the camper. IDk how many times I have seen really cool ideas I would have just never thought of. That's a lot of fun for me as I'll then try and figure out how to make it and make it better suited to my needs. Sometimes it's as simple as putting my lugaloo in a milk...
I have been on another site for years and just joined here. many of my photos were lost when my last phone was destroyed and I have just been copying and pasting into here and it appears to be working. Any reason not to continue?
I've driven across country a couple of times. This is a beautiful and diverse country but never drive through Kansas in the daytime. I made that mistake the first tme and felt like I was driving in circles for hours.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm still trying to figure out a lot of this site I don't get all the stuff under our names like "influencer" and the ranking things.
