I picked up a whynter 45qt fridge off of Amazon for 500.00 and built a weather proof box with a diy slide rack. No picks sorry I finally got my 80 series landcruiser from Australia last month and getting it set up. Hope this helps. Ps- I can put more in the whynter than my Engel, both the same...
No 4x4 no problem, I have a friend that has the same vehicle as you and all he has is and 8000 lbs winch and he keeps up with my Rubicon on easy to moderate trails. He is think about a rear locker. Not have having 4x4 is not a game changer. Have fun and Roll Tide.
Avgjoe624 and I are on the same page, I pack a small ecko chainsaw and a axe for tree/trail clearing and fire wood and let the winch do the heavy lifting.
I am in agreement with Jim Sog, budget gear is what most of use. The other gear is nice but I put my money into my vehicle (fuel, repairs, maintenance and upgrades). ROLL TIDE!!!
I had a disco2, first thing I did was swap the engine to and LS1 and scrap the lr engine. Ran great until I went on holiday and someone stole it and turned it into a smor maker. Go with the Toyota for reliability, if you get the disco you better have a good set of tools.
Enjoyed meeting you at the get together you set up. I got my Rubicon up here now and was wandering if you would like to get together again and talk about a short trip.
When my wife and I went to south africa we rented a ute. When we went to Australia I found a Nissan patrol for sale and made and offer to rent it for our trip. I hope this helps.
When you change your wheel size take a look at the load rating. The only thing I know is the smaller the sidewall the higher the price. I went from 15" wheel to 16" wheels because of the load rating.
I like to listen to Spanish music, I don't understand it but I like the rhythm. If your looking for tires still I got all terran sports by pro comp. I'm running 315/75r16 on my 03 Rubicon.
03 Rubicon with 4.88 gears, 35 inch tires, Rubicon Express 5 inch longarm lift. Vibration can be heard and felt starting at 50 mph. I took the mt tires off and put on procomp all terrain sport tires and vibration is still there. Any suggestions.
03 Rubicon 5 inch longarm lift, 35 inch tires, 4.88 gears. The vibration stats 50 mph that you can feel and hear. Took off the mt tires and and put on procomp all terrain sport tires and the vibration is still there. Any suggestions.
With 2.5 lift and 33 inch tires you will achieve the performance that you are looking for right now and in the future you can make changes as needed. The only inexpensive item you will need with it is a new speed sensor. Take a look at Facebook market place and look for deals on wheel and tire...
I have carried a second battery to run my fridge while parked and used solar and jumper cables to charge it so I did not worry about draining my main battery.
Take a look at the roadhouse tarp by slumberjack. Retail is 119.00 but I pick up 3 for 80.00 on Amazon during a sale. It works great on my tj and any where else I use it.
