Any chance someone with an 03-04 has an OEM flan sitting around? @FriscoDisco @TGF
If so would you mind getting some measurements for me? I'm trying to find the following information:
*Diameter of the fan blade
*Blade thickness
*Depth of the entire unit - this is a little hard to explain...
I have a little information back on the Rover. I'm being told that the coolant flow is perfectly fine, and there's nothing clogged or blocked. The temps are consistent across the hoses, and radiator. By consistent I mean there's no signs of a clog, or bad t-stat.
My brother noticed a couple...
Love hate for sure, but this is borderline stupid. I'm having such a hard time grasping what could be going on since everything is brand new, and everything is apparently working like it should. I have no clogs, no coolant leaks, no air in the system, and no failing parts.
I pulled the trigger...
Just received my last call from the shop, and paid for the work. The bill was actually less than I thought it was going to be so at least I have that going for me. They did confirm the fan was wired backward, and they fixed that. After fixing that they ran the Rover for bit, and said that made a...
I talked to the shop a few minutes ago, and have some news. It appears that I may have had a blonde moment when installing the new AC condenser motor. I was informed that the fan was pulling rather than pushing meaning that I wired it backwards. I'm hoping this will make enough of a difference...
I haven't posted there yet, but have post on Land Rover Forums. I have a couple people saying to check the heater core for a clog. Two people have both said they had the same issues, and it ended up being a clogged heater core. After I can get a good temp reading I plan on checking the core...
That's the first thing we're checking tomorrow. We're going to take an inferred temp reader to take pre and post t-stat reading to determine of coolant is making it through the radiator. We're also going to check the sensors to make sure they're reading correctly. My thought was maybe a sensor...
Unfortunately there aren't many options around here since the only other trusted Rover shop is the dealer. The shop that we used is a very good import repair shop, and a Bosch certified repair shop. I'm going to make a couple calls tonight to some local contacts to see what I can come up with...
Well. Tuesday has come and gone, and the Rover isn't coming home. The shop replaced what we all thought was a faulty t-stat, flushed the system, and added a bottle of Water Wetter. The Rover is still over heating at this point, and that work only helped slightly. We have a newish water pump...
I haven't had a chance to install this yet since our Rover has been in the shop. I'm hoping to get this installed tomorrow after we bring the Rover home. I'll be sure to post about it since this is the one remaining thing that I need to install.
I've thought about going that route recently, but I wanted to be 100% certain what my issue was before going there. If the issue ends up being the t-stat like I think it is then I'll visit that option.
Let me know what part number you have, and how difficult it was.
We dropped the Rover off at the shop yesterday, and received the much awaited phone call this morning. I seems like our t-stat is acting up in a weird way. It working, but only about 40% of the time. We had a small air pocket that they burped, and that only helped slightly. We going to swap out...
It looks like the Rover is heading into the shop for the first time next week. After replacing the fan clutch, and condenser fan the temps are still an issue. I have no air bubbles in the system, and no coolant leaks either. I'm leaning towards an issue with the t-stat since that's the only...
I dug up a picture to show you what the bumper looks like without the valance on the front. The valance can be removed, but you'll be left with holes in the bumper from the mounting tabs of the valance.
This is what an SR5 bumper would look like minus the holes.
It's a pretty accurate description of the bumpers. You picture even shows the Off-Road, and TRD Pro with the exact same bumper on them. The only difference is the valance over the bumper. The silver valance is just an ascent piece, and wouldn't simulate a skid plate. The skid plates can be seen...
I'mm 99% sure you can remove the valances, and will have factory paint under them. All the 4runner models use the same bumpers, but some come with the grey valance depending on which package/model you get. I know a lot of people that have added those to models that didn't come with them.
