Don't let the Centurion know, but I was on the market for an old school D200 crew to do a Cummins swap at the same time when I was looking for it.
Wife has been leaning on me to consider getting her an 89 Grand Wagoneer to swap as well.
Hah!
You may have talked me out of the raptor liner paint job, maybe not... The thing is, I sort of don't care about it from a value perspective because I have no intention of selling it. I bought the truck for $6k and I've got about $10k in repairs (most of in the engine / drivetrain). It has a...
This last place is a restoration / custom / hot-rod shop. They do vehicles from all over the world, and because I drive past them daily I have seen the work for years.
Another resto shop closed from COVID, one never calls me back...
The place that specializes in ford's and diesels (exactly me)...
I actually don't mind the money part as long as I feel like I am getting my money's worth. This last place I had it at I told them I have a long list of places with parts that I know ship fast, I can get OEM sheet metal for things like floor pans if needed etc...
They looked at the door lock...
I have no idea... I've been watching video's this weekend about possibly just doing a Raptor liner paint job, which I can do myself. I've got a buddy that has done bondo work etc... and my uncle was saying I should bring it to his A/C / Heated shop anytime to work on it. Or maybe just have Maaco...
The quote from that shop had nothing to do with a shortage. They are a top tier place that does restorations from around the world for people with way more money than I care to spend.
They will only use certain brands and processes because they have an image to uphold. I believe for their paint...
So, my vehicle has been in the shop for about 5 weeks, and I finally decided to go collect it since they admitted they have only put about a half hour into looking at the lock actuators. Their statement is that all four of the brand-new actuators for the power door locks are shot. With the temp...
Anyone know of a place that makes custom torsion springs in small batches? I had two break, which I believe are made of galvanized steel. They are from the door lock / latch assemblies inside the front doors.
Had a chance to watch the video, and you did a great job with the unboxing and the comparison of the two radios. Almost sounded like you might actually use them sometimes, unlike a bunch of folks on YouTube that seem more like they open the box and then return it hah.
Looking forward to the...
Transfer case seems to be working fine after some use.
Washer Fluid Sprayer Motor Replaced (it's the little things in life...)
Headlights have been reconditioned and see twice as bright.
Some interior photos (yes, my truck is a bit rough... working on it)
You may have seen us today.
Took Lycanical out to the Disney Oklahoma Big Meat Run today. Nomad, my service dog enjoyed his adventure with us and a meal at Mooney's Sunset Bar and Grill.
Oh yeah, we had some family and friends with us too ;)
Anyone have any experience with Sams 4x4 on the west side of Tulsa? JEEP TRUCK SUV - SERVICE PARTS & ACCESSORIES | Sam's 4x4 | Tulsa, Oklahoma (sams4x4.com)
I'm considering finding a different shop, the one I have seems to be overcharging me and possibly not doing the best work in some areas...
So one of the things that was done when I first took the truck in after bringing it home was about $800 worth of service to the transfer case because it was leaking (among other things). Maybe I need to take it back to them under warranty. I'm trying to imagine how it was disconnected and...
Little update on the restoration efforts. We had a bunch of snow and ice drop on us recently so I decided it would be a great opportunity to test out 4x4. Well, as luck would have it, the transfer case shift lever was not behaving - just slipping forward to back without feedback.
Some folks on...
My first vehicle (in my name) was a firetruck red 1992 Mazda Navajo, so when I got the Centurion it was like a blast from the past with the majority of the controls / radio / temp controls being the same. All I need now is a Sony Discman with one of those cassette adapters and I'm back in my...
I keep getting asked for pictures, so here is one of Lycanical safe at home after a trip into town for breakfast and groceries:
And here is one of this awesome little cheap Bluetooth FM-Transmitter (RoadTripper Sound) I bought to listen to music and have hands-free calling:
