This is magic right here, and surprisingly so many people don't really consider it.
I will also toss in having a few items to help out a fuzzy friend is a good idea if you happy to travel with any. They even make reasonably priced kits just for dogs that you can get, or just pull ideas from...
I would be willing to get the kit on my 2017 if someone wanted to donate the cash. :)
It's been on my radar, but expensive enough that I can't just rush out and add it.
I just added a ham antenna this weekend, and still want a few more things like power steps too.
Apparently I don't have a...
No worries, in my efforts to figure out DSTAR to reach you, I think I finally figured out how to set my radio and how to link the local repeater. I have made a half dozen contacts here against 30C [emoji1]

It would be interesting to see what can be done. My guess is that many folks here have 5w HTs, so 2m/70cm will be the majority of users unless using a echolink or decent repeater network (like Peak that goes up and down I-5 corridor) to carry the signal.
May have to try and rig something up...
I don't have any fancy or powerful antenna to get me out far with my HT, so I went after repeaters.
I downloaded repeater book to my phone, and then loaded up some of the local repeater freqs to find people. From where I live and travel, I almost always find people on the Peak repeater network...
That could be cool. I would love to play with dstar more, but that might not allow for too many people to participate.

I think the 1919s are also highly used because they are the largest / correct dimensions to avoid paying airlines oversized luggage fees.
As a result, I would imagine that most competition would not want to miss that spec by a couple inches and lose on some market share.

I have been extremely pleased with my WildPeak AT3/W for all conditions.
I believe I paid about $500 (traded factory tires for another $300) with installation on my 2017 Ram 1500 from a local place. They are snowflake rated too.

Use a window mount at the moment with a quarter wave 2/70m, but wanting something mounted to my sport bar and a little more permanent. Still trying to figure out what to do, but heading towards a spring base mount so I don't break anything in my carport or asking...
I would recommend getting something like the wilderness first aid kit from rescue essentials, and tagging on extras like chitosam / quickclot based on your skills and budget.
Wilderness First Aid is great training that directly applies to overlanding / camping type adventures, and is designed...
I have a Go Rhino sports bar 2.0 with the motorized actuator rigged up with two 10" LED bars. I also have a 4 channel wireless controller and two cube lights. The top LED bars are wired together, and the rear cubes are wired together.
After dropping $600 at a shop, the best they could do is...
I bought a number of those Rhino products a couple years ago. So far I have only really gotten use out of the ratchet straps, but they are well built items as I can tell.
