Wow man, it's a pain in the butt but it will be so sweet when its done! It's a good thing you have this build thread because the only people that will appreciate this are folks that have built their own rig themselves.
When I built my old Suburban, which is like the Taj Mahal in comparison to...
Power steering went out so I thought since I'd have the pump out I may as well pull the box too, rebuild it and do some upgrades... I drilled and tapped it for future ram assist steering. I have a dana 60 in great shape that I'll be putting under the truck soon. I'll do the hydro assist then.
That sounds like a killer build. I built a 203/205 twin stick dub and have 2 line locks in my 70 suburban. It turns on post!
I love to see and hear about all these knucklehead builds! [emoji2]
I changed my tire after blowing it out romping through the hills near my place. I did a bit more damage than I initially thought... totally worth it though!
I was rippin through the hills near my place and as I drifted around a fairly smooth curve my tire blew out !POW! I limped out to the pavement and called a buddy to help me out... my spare was at home (I wasn't planning on romping around that day) by sheer coincidence he was less than a mile...
All good points and I can attest to there validity... my stock engine mounts tore apart in about 6 months or so which tells me there's a lot of twisting that's trying to happen but can't and thus the mounts tear...
I do have a crossover bar between my shock hoops attached with urethane...
That's awesome man! My story is similar in that I turned every bolt myself etc. etc. I really dig old Detroit iron! I'll be watching this build!
I have a build thread 70 K20 Suburban if you're interested.
Cool. I had a feeling that it was more about the rules than the hose itself... this particular guy is one of those pushy know it all types that made it sound like every car needed steel lines to even run. As a matter of principle I don't usually take one persons advice as gospel... hence my...
Is it okay to run soft lines that distance? I've heard it's not but the guy who brought it up runs a drag car so maybe its only an issue in that world.
I still haven't added water storage or my pressure pump but I do have my diy tube over tube heat exchanger in and plumbed.
I'm curious to see others ideas on water storage... following.
