after watching this video, i'm kind of interested in doing side boxes like the ones on this trailer ( @ 2:17 in the video). maybe a shorter one on the side with the awning and door, then a longer one for the other side. it may be a nice place to keep my full sized shovel and traction boards...
i like this book. good descriptions of the trails, doesn't require batteries, and doesn't require reception. also is nice to read while in the bathroom.
one trailer to look for that may fit your bill is the nucamp tab trailer. its a teardrop style and is a little bigger with a sleeping area and small kitchen. the tab model sounds like a lot initially, but you're going to spend around $4-5k on a cargo trailer and you still have to build it out...
After figuring out the order of setting up the straps for the motorcycle and testing my tetris skills to pack in my camping gear with the bike in place, the trailer did good on my trip last weekend out to the Joshua Tree area. The trailer pulled well and rode smooth with the bike inside. I did...
i pretty much have the motorcycle tie downs figured out and i put the bike in the trailer for the first time a couple weeks ago. i didn't want to have a permanent wheel chock installed and wanted the tie downs as least intrusive as possible. i originally wanted to do recessed d rings in the...
here in southern california, we're mostly on concrete for the freeways around the cities. If i'm using the trailer for utility purposes and the trailer doesn't have any weight, it bounces a decent amount when going over the joints between slabs or spots where they seal up cracks. put some...
good question, i'm not sure how much it would prolong the life, but i imagine slowing down the spring fluctuations between compression and rebound would be kinder on the springs. my main intention with the shocks would be to smooth out the ride on the trailer. i notice my trailer rides...
i'm happy with the old reliable poop bucket. got a home depot bucket with the luggable loo seat. i get the composting bags off amazon and it works nice to keep a couple rolls of tp and the bags inside the bucket when traveling, then set up the seat onto the bucket when getting to camp. its...
congrats on the bike. i picked up a kawasaki klr650 this summer, but haven't had the chance to take it camping with me yet. should be fun to go explore away from the campsite and will be nice since gas prices are high.
i went with these windows. they fit between what i'll loosely call the metal "wall studs" and they were the right thickness for my walls.
a couple recommendations for cutting the holes for the windows is first to use painters tape and give yourself at least 2 inches on each side of the line...
great seeing your progress and a fellow cargo trailer modular camper guy on here. i have a little 5x8 and love it, has come in very handy for helping people move and moving stuff i didn't want to put in my suv. camping in it has been nice too.
i have the same bar locks as you and one thing i...
i'm surprised nobody has mentioned UCO stuff yet. i've tried a lot of different options, but really like my uco mess kit (i didn't get the one with the cup because i already have a bunch of cups). while it doesn't nest, its not overly huge and it stays sealed. i like that if i'm eating...
x2 on the side rack idea. i have a DIY "rack" that i made for my awning that i mounted on the side of the trailer in order to have an adjustable height awning. i used silicone caulking that is good for outside and colder temps to seal up the holes. i have long through bolts that go into the...
i mounted mine in the grille too, reminds me of the old cars that have the grille badges. i drilled holes in my emblem and used bolts with fender washers on the back to make sure it stays put. its just below the driver side head light on the lower grille. i think it blends in nice.
kind of similar to you, i got a 5x8 enclosed trailer. i have a full size tri-fold mattress and recently got a folding bed frame. my shiba sleeps in the trailer with me and it works out well. while on the trail, i have him clipped in with a harness and tether (connected to the car seat anchor...
