My old LR Defender 90 was named the Exxon Valdez, in part because it's registration plate was XON, but mainly due to the amount of oil it used to leak. My current Defender 110 is The Brick, again it's registration plate and it's similar aerodynamic shape.

Nice kit, I'm in my late 50's and climbing down the ladder twice a night is something I have to consider, hence favouring the ground tent and toilet option.

Do you take fresh clothes for everyday? We tend to take 5 days worth and find a campsite with clothes washing facilities every few days and have a lazy day in camp. I do intend making an overlanders washing machine. Wash as you drive.

Nice forward controlled Jeep. The Land Rover 101 Forward Control is something similar dating from the 70's , there are a few around converted to campers/rv's, I'd love one but like your truck 10 to 12 mpg. I have no idea if fuel costs are similar UK/US these days, we pay £1.20 per litre.

You may have just drained it before the point of a big bill. Watch for an oily film in your fresh coolant it may suggest a head gasket has gone. Something I always fear with mine as LR TD5's do have that problem at high mileage, mine has done 170,000 miles. I can't afford another big bill, I...

I hope your engine block is ok, that does look a lot of rust in your coolant. It may be worth removal all your hoses and flush everything out with clean water before putting them back and refilling with good quality antifreeze.

That looks more like a bad pint of beer than it does antifreeze.
