    I saw that same presentation. I found him to be intentionally confusing and kinda pompous. His lecture was exactly opposite of the video in this thread. He said to never air down unless you’re stuck and need to to get out. He said because it degrades the tire. BFG’s website specifically...

    Welcome! Glad you’re here Best way to prepare for a big trip is to do a bunch of little weekend trips. It builds confidence and lets you learn how you want to approach overlanding. You don’t need tons of gear, but you do need to be able to sleep comfortably and stay warm.

    Lots of great advice in this thread. Definitely keep the weight down - be very thoughtful about what is a need and what is a luxury. Keep exterior drag down. Build what you think is cool, but give some thought to a deck/drawer system with a canopy. Wishing now I would have gone that route...
