It’s perfect when unloaded as my daily driver and weekend wheeling.
It’s only when fully loaded with roof top tent, camping gear, and all the extras that I bottom out.
Sumo springs look like the way to go.
Thanks!
I really appreciate that feedback. It’s where I was leaning after some research last night, but to have someone vouch for the sumo’s helps a lot.
Will definitely add a leaf as well.
I feel a September project coming on ;)
That makes sense
The only layers I really use are public land and wilderness areas so I know my boundaries. Then I’m winter I turn on snow depth so I can decide where I do or do t want to go.
The current fires layer is also good info.
If OB1 has that info incorporated or available, I’ll be happy.
I suspect that isn’t necessarily uncommon. Unfortunate and hard to hear about a product I’ve become so familiar with and spent so much time learning all the intricacies.
Gaia was my offline Nav for both overlanding and hiking. There was a lot of comfort in that.
I have a Tacoma with an OME 2” lift on the (Dakar I assume) springs.
When empty, it’s a great off roader and drives nicely as my daily. When I add my RTT and camping gear I am bottoming out. Frequently enough that I want to fix it.
My instinct is to add a leaf. I have the OEM packs I pulled...
Gaia has a new overlanding layer that is pretty good.
I also like adding the wilderness layer and snow layer in winter
I also want to start spending more time with OB1 and OnX
I’m toying with the idea of trying the OB1 map app when I renew this fall.
Can anybody provide some comparisons to Gaia, anybody fully vouch for it?
Hard to leave something you’re used to, even if it is glitching a little bit.
I have that issue with my android tablet, but zero problems with my Apple phone.
Turns out, the map did download the second trip, but not the first. There was zero indication so I was just hoping for the best.
Very displeased with android in general, and definitely Gaia on android
I would go through the standard troubleshooting. Turn off the app and restart it. Log all the way out and all the way back in. Do a phone/computer restart. If none of that works, get in touch with @Kent R to help you sort it out.
When you're on the map and click member dots, you should get...
I think it depends on where you are. The vast majority of National Parks and National Forests are Mountain Time zone and west. In that case, the America The Beautiful pass makes tons of sense.
If you live on the east coast, it might not be worth it based on your availability to use it.

I'm planning to check out an OB1 posted camp site located @ 47.30823, -120.56514
If it's good, that's where we'll be on the evening of the 10th. If not, we'll keep looking.
I have your number. I'll get you my Garmin contact so you can verify from Cle Elum.
