hello OB members,
I'm looking for a new 2-burner stove. And unfortunately I like the ones that are only available abroad, in north america or australia.. from my research it will either be a coleman fyrechampion, or stansport 2-burner stove.
task is now: how to change fittings to use the...
ABS is made for wet surfaces, snow and ice. It just maintains wheel spin for the tire to provide you with cornering force. When push comes to shove, it's very likely to work more reliable then threshold braking. It's dumb, ok, just knows 0-1-0-1-0-1- .. binary brakes on and off. But it works...
good thing! this what I learned from motorcycling too: you need to focus on the gap. not the object or obstacle.#
to answer davids question: with ABS, hit the brakes as hard as you can, and continue steering. easy as that.
hey guys,
I'm still unsure if there is a better product around, in terms of value for money. and if anyone here has positive experiences:
- the ARB 2500 awning and the room with floor
there are others around in about the same price range, but none with a room with a floor available, right? at...
well, at some opportunities, when going on a narrow gravel road (more like a trail) between acres, there might be a open plane that is not agriculturally used. but if you would set up camp there, I'd be very likely you'd been chased away by hikers or even the farmer himself, the pitchfork in his...
ah, ok, got ya. if I don't see a private sign at the access, but am in doubt. hope it's not that rainy in early august. to go as far from the road as possible, without damaging anything ..
sounds good. it goes without saying to show respect to nature and other individuals. I'm really looking forward to our wild camping days in norway in early august ..
that doesn't sound that good however. do I really need to 'hide' not to attract any attention of bypassers?
@thorstein and @Joey83, you both should put your thoughts and experiences as locals here. as I was looking for reliable information about the right to roam and got in contact with you both, your insider input helped a lot. let's share it with others..
slight amendment for germany: ONLY on designated parking spots. NOT in the wild, not even at the side of the street. most overland roads (federal roads) have deep ditches to each side, and right after the ditch is a field/acre. that's the difference to most countries: in germany firstly...
thanks @thorstein.
I know, 8 days is pretty tight, but we've only got 2 weeks of vacation, and to get to norway and back already takes 4 days, cause as you mentioned we don't want to drive more than 6-8hrs per day either. and in norway, there will be so many views to stop at, that 6hrs driving...
would you mind having a look at our (current) trip planning and give little advice on whatever is needed from you standpoint? as well hints and tips concerning the routing between night stays .. would really appreciate help from experienced locals!
na, I bet C and M wouldn't make it either this year. but we should put it on schedule for '18. and then maybe switch to sweden. sounds like there's more unpaved roads ..
we're going to do a 8 days overland trip through southern norway in august, as part of our honeymoon. currently busy browsing google maps and earth for gravel roads ..
if C and M would really make it over the pond, we'll definitly join!! what great opportunity for an OB europe rally!

A big hello from Europe!
