so I paid £4500 and I'm very happy about that it does need a service and some odd jobs but I'm ok doing that. I think it was cheaper because it is an LC3 (what I wanted so less to go wrong) and a manual. I was happy to find one that had a chassis that is not in bits as they all will have some...
finally found one back in a 4X4 joining team Toyota is a 03 plate Lc3 130 miles, chassis is ok it has had some work done in the past but the work looks good I'm happy. I hope you find one soon!!! I will let you know if it brakes down as much as my disco did!
Hi all just wanted to share that I finally managed to pick up a LandCruiser 120.
I have been away after my discover 3 broke my heart with breakdown after breakdown.
have been looking for a Landcruiser 120 for ages been to look at a few and all were overpriced with lots of problems. but today...
I think the 120 is the right mid-sized for the UK, as amazing as the 100 is it would be a pain to get around in. the problem I'm having is finding with the 120 is finding one without any rot to the chassis. going to looks a LC3 on Wednesday so fingers crossed someone has looked after it.
Welcome to OB lots of info and make sure you check out the regional forum for the UK.
sucks your trip has been cancelled but sounds like you have some cool plans for the future.
So cool to see one of these in the uk. It’s such a shame we can’t get our hands easily on these amazing trucks! I have always loved the 4Runner and Tacoma!
Yeah would love an update and I’m sure not all of them are like that as I see some beautiful D3 rigs around I just couldn’t trust mine anymore so stoped going anywhere in it!!! I’m in the west Midlands so we have some to chose from, hardest part is getting one with less than 170k miles on it!!
That sucks about the local club only letting land rovers in.
So I can only talk from experience, so I was in the same situation and went with heart!!! I had my D3 for about a year and in that time replaced the turbo, 2 egr valves, turbo hose, and then finally the cam belt pretension snapped...
Final got my disco back yay. First mod is starting my patch collection (uk thin blueline and my Canada thin redline and of course overland bound) next is finding a spot for my Id badge, light guards and a led bar! O and using it gently so hopefully i don’t brake it again
hi all hoping to come on the Saturday for the day, only problem right now is that my new to me disco 3 is broken....... :pensive: it had a random fault when I bought it, so took it straight back to the garage.
found out today its a turbo problem!!! lucky for me the rover has a warranty and it...
