Baltic birch plywood is not heavy. A full 5/8" thick sheet weighs about 55 lbs and you'd only use 3/4 of it so we're talking maybe 35 lbs.
I don't know about 2x8 but it's not heavy either.
I did not weight the whole thing but it's not heavy. I would estimate it to be less than 100 lbs.
I bought a Napier backroadz sub tent that attaches to the rear of a vehicle. My plan is to empty the jeep, put all the stuff in the tente to keep it dry and sleep in the jeep. That seemed like a good plan at first but then I realized I would have to remove my ARB fridge and slide each time...
I'm sure I am not the only one around who wants his daily driver to be just that when he's in the city but turn it into sleeper when going on a week-end camping trip or a 10 days backcountry adventure. I wanted something that I can easily install when needed and can be just as easily removed...
What do you consider "super high" ? Maybe my setup would interest you. I posted a build thread on another forum, I wouldn't mind reposting here.
Mine is about 8" high, can be installed and removed in 15 to 20 minutes and my rear seats stay in the jeep. I just fold them down and the platform...
Most of these fire extinguisher mounts seem to fit diameters up to 8". My propane cylinder has a 9" diameter. This is what I have.
I want to mount them on each side of my spare tire on this bracket from rock slide engineering...
So, I stretched once, still way too short, stretched again, still too short, stretched again, strap broke.
I thought maybe I'm doing this wrong so I tried again with the other one, holding it differently, strap broke again.
I guess I'm definitely doing something wrong but I don't see how else...
Hello,
I have two 5lbs propane cylinders that are 9" in diameter. I was going to mount them with Super Quick Fist clamp which are supposed to hold anything betwen 2.5" and 9.5" in diameter but it's not working, they are way to short to go around my tanks, the gap between the two ends is almost...
Hello,
I became member a few days ago. I got emails for order and shipping confirmations with tracking number. One of the email says "You will receive a separate email with your member number and upgrade access code", I did not receive it. I'm not trying to be pushy here, just wondering if I...
I'm off to a bad start.
I am a french speaking person living in Quebec. Desert Runner's post does not have anything to do with this thread's topic, it just felt like an attack, or at least harsh comments on what we have to do in Quebec to protect our culture and language. I guess it just hit...
I apologize to all other members and moderators, I should ignore this idiocy but I just can't.
FYI:
The first referendum was in 1980, not in the 60's or 70's, the last one was in 1995, not 4 years ago.
There is no law that says it's illegal to post signs in English, it only says that it has...
Interesting topic.
Here's some information about communications when riding in logging roads in Quebec. These are not laws but they are standard rules followed by all logging truckers and anyone driving in on a logging road where there is forestry operations should follow them as well for...
Hi all,
My name is Eric, I live in Montreal. I drive a Wrangler JKU 75th anniversary. I have owned it for less than a year, I had a 2010 Tacoma which I had organized for overlanding but I want to drive in logging roads and backcountry roads with an open top so changed for the Jeep.
I do no...
I've owned a Spot messenger (1st gen) for 10 years and I am upgrading to a Spot-x this week. I never heard of Bivystick but you picked my curiosity so I checked them out.
They talk about being affordable but they are only a bit cheaper than Inreach. Their service costs more than a Spot-x flex...
