Looks like a nice platform to start with!

I just came across this a week or so ago. I can't make it this year, but I wish I could. Gonna try for next year.

I keep a spreadsheet with dates and mileage of all my maintenance, along with all the upgrades and changes I make. Just something I can look back to so I know when I did something. I use Google sheets, so I can access it from my desktop, laptop, phone, and tablet.

Man, my old man had one just like that! It was supposed to be my first car when I turned 16, but it was totaled in a head-on collision before I got it. That brings back some memories.

Thought I would go ahead and throw this build thread on here as a place for me to document what I am doing. It will be slow going as the funds aren't there yet, and what little I do have to throw at this rig will be for getting it baselined, and cosmetically acceptable for it's current daily...

If you like the truck, go with it. You can do quite a bit off road with a 2wd. You could put a small lift kit on it with some bigger tires for a little more ground clearance. Everything else would be the same as any other build. Just know your limitations, and have some recovery equipment.

If I could go back to when I was 18 and do it all over again, this is something I would seriously consider. I've always had a fascination with storms. I love the spring time when they start rolling in to north Texas, and to sit out on my patio watching.
