    Hi from New Orleans LA

I feel like there isn’t much here in Louisiana. Haven’t been out to DeSoto National Forest yet. And only been out to Kisatchie once. Definitely agree the ozarks are beautiful. Love exploring out there.

North Georgia waterfalls and hiking (UPDATE)

We loved Cloundland state park when we when visited a few years back. Did the two waterfall trails and then I think the eastern rim trail. The western rim was closed at the time. I was just looking into a trip back into the area, so thanks, I'll start looking into these other areas.

    Homochitto National Forest, Mississippi

I tend to have a general plan and then just go with it. Things always seem to be constantly evolving. And yeah, any routes would be a great help if you don't mind. Now that its kinda cooling down, I'm wanting to get out and hit the places I haven't been to yet.

    Homochitto National Forest, Mississippi

I was looking into Kisatchie, just a few hours drive for me. Might make an overnight trip. Worried though, its just the same as the rest. A few friends recommended it, though they hiked through it.

Same thing, a lot of bridges out too. They were doing burns while we were there so didn't stick around. We will look elsewhere next time.

Distance between home and the start of a trail

Headed into Arkansas for the first time next week. Plan on making a lot of long weekends exploring the area. Havn't been to Texas yet either, was looking to make a few trips maybe next year but that makes me hesitant now.

Distance between home and the start of a trail

Im out of BR, yep also noticed most things are minimal 6 hours away. When we lived in Massachusetts, just a few hours away north or west, though trail kind of exploration required a little investigation. And nothing like out west.

    Radio suggestions

Hey, I am just getting into the radio world too. I just picked up a Midland MXT 275 for GMRS, comes with everything for a basic start. I'm mounting the head unit under the seat with mic somewhere in reach on the dash. The only two things I would do is upgrade the antenna and hardwire the...

New member from MA. Suggestions on an overland rig?

Use to live on the south shore too, in Scituate. Like the other have said use what you have for now. I found spending time with the stock rig gave me a better understanding of what I was looking for. What I would like to change or things that I wasn’t sure it was capable of. But I’d vote toyota...
