That would be a good spot. A guy I work with, his grandpa has a couple hundred acres up there that they hunt. He wants my help to clear some trails this Spring. Maybe we could utilize the land while we're there and do a little bit off road. Possibly do some target shooting as well.
@Wildland Outdoors , @SteveR , should we plan a camping weekend somewhere in Eastern Iowa around the beginning of May? I know Steve has a camper, and I'm purchasing some new camping gear. I'm thinking a weekend of fireside chat and the wife and I trying out the new gear. She's not big on...
I know there are a couple undecided. Plus I have one coming from work who isn't on the forum yet. We also have three months so hopefully we'll attract new members to join in the fun. I'm hoping for ten rigs. I think that would be a good number.
You'd be coming right through my home town in Iowa. I'll wave when you drive by. lol. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, there are a few of us meeting up in Dugger, Indiana this June at the Redbird SRA for some camping and off roading, in case you're interested.
Lol, me too. It's been since my Army days that I've been in a tent. My wife is not fond of camping. So I have to purchase an air mattress, portable fan, etc. so she'll be somewhat happy. I'm fine with Redbird. If we're not comfortable with the trail, we'll pick a different one. At least we can...
It's about an hour closer. No badge trails, but looks like fun. I'm not really hung up on the badges. Just looking to get out and have some fun. Any thoughts from people about Badlands?
Ok, I thought it was one specific trail. We will go, have fun, and if we're not comfortable with a trail, we'll find another path. It'll be nice to just get out and get away for a couple days. I'm buying some new camping gear. Maybe those of us around Iowa can try to get together for a weekend...
I'm not into trail damage. I think @Steve looked at some trail maps. I want to keep it mild this trip. Some camping, fireside chat, maybe some fishing and some mild trail runs.
