The Commander has recently been added to my short list of vehicles along with the Toyota Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and Grand Cherokee. Seeing quite a few of them for sale on CL in my area.
Any big issues with it? It's not gonna be my daily driver, so that gives me some flexibility.
Love the Commander, it’s on my radar as my next purchase... any downsides to owning one? It’s NOT gonna be my daily driver but needs to be reliable for those longer distance off-road trips.
Thanks everyone for the replies. In response to Shaun's post...yeah I don't need or want a super modified rig. All of my past 4x4 vehicles have either been stock or slightly modified with no more than a 2" lift and a size or two bigger A/T tires. I've never really needed more. There's hundreds...
Found out I’m FINALLY getting my VA disability back pay (to the tune of about 5000-6000 bucks – finally!!!) in the next month or so…supposedly.
Desperately wanting to get an off-road “overlanding” capable rig again – but not wanting to pull the trigger on the first thing that tickles my fancy...
Exciting stuff here...finally got the windshield replaced...and it's now getting a full interior detailing as I type this! Let's just say the previous owner...didn't exactly keep it clean.

Great idea, especially since I've got my fat bike with me almost everywhere I go.
For me, my favorite area to ride is pretty much anywhere in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - specifically the Keweenaw Peninsula. Holy crap. More trails than you can ride in a season, easily (unless you ride full...
Well, we WE'RE gonna change our dates and make KOAR, but the daughter of our (wife and I) best friends is getting married on the 15th. :-/
So, that's out.
Back to the last week in September.
We may be modifying out trip a bit...and may be able to make KOAR after all! Anyone have any idea how big this will turn out to be? How many vendors are gonna be there, and what clinics they're gonna offer?
Looking at buying a canoe for family use...need to keep the price under $500, so most likely gonna be a used one.
Anyone have any suggestions on a canoe in the 15-17’ range that I should look for that would fall under that price point?
Thanks!
