I check that my cargo is securely fastened, when I start the trip and the start/ end of a trail. sometimes things shift or an edge is sharper than you thought it was, branch lower than you thought etc. I'm a strong believer in Murphy's law, so I do what I can to avoid it.

the competition against the Swag is a malamoo by OZtent. one of the wire-framed pop-ups. If you want quick and easy, with minimal requirements they look good.

Just match the gauge and add however much length you need by splicing in near the lights. No need to mess with the connections if all you need is more length. Use heat shrink connectors or wrap for weather protection.
