I have been debating on board air. A number of people have mentioned the ARB twin unit is capable of running power tools. I am curious if anyone has actual experience (this or a different unit) using for tools.
IF the unit could be used for some around the house projects requiring an air...
I have a possible deal going now. If it falls through I may be back with you. Superwinch offers a really nice wireless add on that allows you to use your smartphone to control remotely.
Just one more advantage for the lucky one to take this beast home.
(trying to hype this up for you)
You might check out Marmot one and 2 person tents. Mostly free standing models that should fit on your trailer but with a lot more space. Great products and they stand by them with great warrenty.
My one person tents are both from tarptent.com. Really nice products for hiking. I'm just not...
I ended up buying a lightly used Nemo wagontop 6 person tent this past summer. I love it. Lots of space and you can stand up inside easily. The separate vestibule area makes great place for storing gear and the kids think it's super cool. Poles are a little long but my 6 year old helps me set...
Glad to know the prefab stickers do not cover the sloped edges of the hood, I had been looking at options. Would love to see some additional pics of your handywork. Curious how the hood looks I'm the sun.
Love the entire build.
@SeguineJ First I agree with others, find local fly shop and BUY from them. It will make alot more sense down the road. That being said, Orvis has done a really nice job with their videos http://howtoflyfish.orvis.com/video-lessons. But my saying is friends don't let friends buy Orvis.
Also...
I grew up fishing the Platte. Though mostly in the 11 mile canyon but haven't actually been up Cheeseman. We will be in the area this summer. @Chaoswest we can hook up to wet some line.
I am excited by the exploration/discovery of backroad trips. But I cringe every time I read a trip report or see pictures of folks plowing across a waterway (typically smaller streams) in their vehicles.
So question to you all more experienced overland/fishers -- is there any type of protocol...
@1Louder thanks much for the suggestions. UC looks to be more comprehensive. Now if I figure out how to route, camping and fly fishing all on the same map.
Not certain this is the place to ask however....
Does anyone have an app they would recommend for camping locations? There seem to be some decent state park based apps but I have not had luck with something that lists all types of camping.
@Justi_0237 - my experience with lakes vary greatly. Depends a lot on if you are fishing the shoreline or from a boat (belly or otherwise) but is definitely different than rivers in that currents don't exist in the same way but the fish still eat. All fish eat. Just have to figure out what, when...
@FlyRENO I don't expect our route to take us that far south But. Man that's a beautiful fish you're holding. Perhaps I will encounter a GPX "failure".....
I've just started shopping for winches. I think I am going to do the hidden wench in the bumper. Any idea if it would fit for 2013 LR4 internal?
Sent from my iPad using OB Talk
Thanks for the recommendation @OregonTrail4runner. I enjoy flats fishing, the sight fishing is challenging and the water is typically really beautiful. If Mako fishing is like the other deep water fly fishing (either using teasers and/or live bait) I end up feeling like it is chumming. Just not...
I'm new to Overlanding but not fly fishing. Half the reason I have developed an interest in overlanding is to get to the water. This summer we are planning a trip from Colorado to California culminating at San Diego.
Last year I started using www.wildtroutstreams.com by Gogal Publishing...
