I was up there in the summer. The trail looks intimidating a bit in some spots but it is not bad at all. As we were coming down a stock 'cop style' newer Ford Explorer was going up the trail so you'll be fine.
As someone who deals with the repercussions of said "poor drivers" I am all in for driver assist and safety features. No one starts out as an expert driver especially off-road and I see no fault or lack of responsibility on the part of Ford or the individual driver to utilize these features. I...
If you’re looking for sliders check out Rocky Road Outfitters. They make bolt in sliders for our trucks. I have them and they’ve saved me a few times with entire weight of truck coming down on them with no issues other than scratches
Wow, that’s awesome. Pretty much goes against what I’ve read online. If you notice any issues as let us know! Hopefully the IC thing is more caution than anything else.
Did you move your intercooler? Everything I've read says not to mount a winch on the EB due to blocking to airflow to the intercooler. I have the 3.5L EB and would love a winch but not into moving IC right now.
I am new to getting interested in mobile HAM, don't have radio yet and only on the preface of the study guide but trying to figure this stuff out. In regards to antennas mounting location I was wondering if I were to mount it at base of rack on bed rail basically between vertical rack support...
I have a set of never installed ditch light brackets for 2009-2014 F150 from CBI Offroad Fab. They retail for approx $62 plus tax/shipping/handling. Asking $55 plus shipping or $55 if picked up. Located in Santa Cruz County CS
Can you recommend an entry level mobile unit? Been looking at posts about Kenwoods and Yaesu, APRS and TNC, etc. Lot of opinions and information and some are a lots of $$$.
Thank you! Your response was super helpful! By the looks of if I’m better off going HAM then. I’m familiar with repeaters as I’m firefighter and do a lot of wildland stuff where repeaters are crucial. I had no idea there were so few out here for GMRS. I’ll start leaning my search to HAM instead...
Hello fellow OB'rs. I've been trying to find this info and I'm sure its here somewhere spread out in these 25 pages but I'm struggling. My GF and I have gotten into overlanding/dispersed camping over the past 1.5-2 years. We do not go super far off grid. Most our trips have taken us no more than...
I am somewhere in the middle. Recent trip to Eastern Sierras tore me up good. Bought a buffer off by Amazon to try and fix it up but if doesn’t work then oh well. Not gonna stop going out!
It’s awesome. Wasn’t too crowded and it’s got decently spread out dispersed spots. Kinda rocky getting up to the lake but not bad. Stock 4wd can do, saw a stock F150 pulling adventure trailer make it. Definitely worth checking out.
