So much truth here Keith! California has lot's of open land and a few awesome off road parks and there is a constant battle with lobbyist groups who want road closures. When I lived there, I joined a few off road clubs and we would do fund raisers for legal battles and participated in trail...

That's a great question, I was there a few weeks ago and wondered the same thing.

I plan on watching the weather systems closely this winter in hopes to meet up with some friends in TN and do a snow run/camping at Wind Rock, let me know if any of you might be interested... this could be a great experience for future Antarctica trips.
