No one is denying that. But to choose a platform based solely on aftermarket parts is silly. How about choose based on your intended use(s)? Are you rock crawling? Is it your daily driver? How many people do you need to take care of? Comfort? Dare I say reliability? For me, the latter two are...
That's like saying you need a million apps in an app store, when 98% are duplicates and the top 2% are well... the best, and the other 98% is crap. As long as you can get all the basics in good quality form you're fine, which leaves a lot of platforms to choose from.

No I'm pretty sure you were a degree away from disaster haha... it looked as bad as it could have been. But you made a good move by hitting gas instead of brake and powering on to where that video picks up.
The motorecycle guy watching...."that was intense". [emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji23]...
Anyone head up to Coyote Flats recently? Anyone do any fishing? Curious if anyone had luck out at Funnel Lake (this year)? And if you did catch fish, where did you have the best luck?
What are your driving habits? Are you good with driving a slug? Where does gas mileage fall on the list? Do you care about the luxuries? Is this a long term investment? Does the $10k have to pay the whole truck off?
For me on road manners where I'll spend 90% of my time trumped extreme off-road...
Just seeing this thread. Still planning? I did Kofa earlier this year, over 2.5 days, it was fantastic. Only saw one other person the entire time we were out there. We entered the same way (make sure to get permission from the Castle Dome mine people to pass through their gate), headed north...

Been looking at these and Oztent recently, leaning towards Shiftpod due to the perceived thermal qualities.
I too like to set up camp and then leave to take the truck and explore these work out better than rtt for me. Size and weight on all these is relative as long as you plan to put it up...
Couldn't you just leave whatever uprights were already there from the RV or awning, detach the rest and go? I don't want my vehicle to be so connected to the overall setup, we like to be mobile after setting up camp, explore locally, etc... That said, the Foxwing and Tagalong would be a great...
For the Tagalong owners out there, after you get it setup and attached to your RV tent or Foxwing, could you disconnect and leave freestanding if you had an extra Ridge pole and some guy lines?

Not sure what months those are but the gate was locked on Nov. 20. Spoke with the gentleman who owned the property and he made it seem like he was over people driving through/around without permission and was keeping it locked.

Took 3 days through Kofa, what an amazing place so close to Yuma, yet you feel so far. The whole trip can be done in stock 4x4, having 4low will help through some of the washes and small climbs. That said I'd rate this route "blue" (green, blue, red). Mostly because of how remote spots can be...
