Well, the "new" 247J is in, it's just a matter of getting a new front driveshaft. No picture sadly, since my driveway is still pretty well soaked in dirt and TC fluids, I can't get down there unless I expect to scrub up afterwards. Almost back on the road!
Well, funny story there. The tow was like 58 miles, 53 of which Insurance covered, so I has a 13 dollar overage. The first tow truck they called broke down in the yard, and the second one was a local guy, which was probably better anyways. I originally called at like 10 or 11 PM, and didn't get...
Yeah, from what I understand, when the 247J goes, it always seems to go in a spectacular fashion. Had to get towed home, and didn't get home until 3AM friday morning. The first tow truck that was sent broke down in the yard, so state farm had to call another company to come get me.
Driving home from vegas the other day and I was greeted with a pretty sudden loud and shaky vibe, followed by a pretty big bang. I thought "damn, I blew a driveshaft". Turns out, I uh, didn't blow a driveshaft:
Soooo, yeah. The 247J decided to blow up. I think it's the TC that went and not...

MOOOOOAAAABBB!
Went back to Moab last week!
Had another excellent time, and the Jeep performed much better this year. No major damage to report, but I still have a tendency to drop coils.
Gettin' flexxxy
Also, the LED array was super bright, and somewhat flexible since you can just turn...
Not much been happening lately, since I am currently prepping for my trip to Moab next week. I did happen to get a few issues resolved and some experimenting with the 12v cooler.
After watching it for a few weeks, I noticed that the filter housing was having issues staying attached to the...
Well, I said I wasn't going to buy any more things for the Jeep until after my trip to Moab in early March, but I couldn't resist.
I bought this little bugger to better illuminate the trail on trips that end up becoming night runs.
It complements the other LEDs pretty well.
I bought a...
*pulls hat off of head*
I feel ya, friend. This WJ is my 3rd Jeep. The first was an 88 XJ that was totaled after an F-150 made an illegal turn in front of me. The second was a 94 ZJ that was rear ended, I believe that actually totaled both vehicles (The mopar tire carrier did a real number on...
The tire carrier is a FABCORE tire carrier (they run through an Ebay store) paired with a JKS license plate relocation mount. I wired the license plate light into a 4-flat trailer harness so that it can be removed should the need arrive.
It's cozy, it's functional, and it works! Another interesting bit is the mat underneath the table near the stove: It's the floor mat from my first vehicle, an 88 Jeep XJ.
The old Coleman gear is BULLETPROOF. I have a 70ish year old 2burner that I take as a spare incase the "super easy" propane Coleman stove kicks the bucket. Not to mention, if you ever need to find a part but can't find a model number, you can ask for help on their Facebook page. The only...
Another good coincidence is that Red Wj there. He upgraded to a clayton 6" lift, and I bought the IRO 3" he was running. the lift has been on 2 rigs and is still going strong!
