Mod #1: Remove open air filter and deposit into the trash can. Install stock airbox.
Open air filters aren’t a good idea on overland rigs because of the dusty, wet conditions you may encounter. They may look cool to 17 yr olds, but they will be clogged/soaked on the first trip, and you’ll be...
One person's suck is another person's wonderful...
Life is such a difficult thing to navigate. You want to live in the city, but don't want the crowds. You want to live in the country, but don't want the critters... So many choices. So many problems. So many solutions. I've come to understand...
From a small group perspective this is a great problem to have as we said before. I would be inclined to elect a second leader, which I’m sure by now you have someone in mind, and have them take half the people, and you take half the people. If size allows then I would elect a third leader and...
That is a good point, you could buy a used iPad with cellular and never connect it to a cellular carrier, and just use its onboard gps chip... never thought of that.

My Android loving friend has a saying:
Android: You can find an Android phone/tablet for any budget. Some are so terrible that you wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy... and some are good.
Apple: Apple only sells excellence. Even their lower tier is excellent. Their top tier is just more...
My whole family is embedded in the Apple universe, so it's an easy choice for me. We have an iPad Air2 128GB that we use for overland maps (Gaia, etc). It also holds about 50 iTunes movies on it, and our entire music library. We can play movies or music directly from it while using mapping...
We take a grill grate with a stake you pound into the ground at the campfire. It works awesome. It’s called the Perfect CampfireGrill (on Amazon).

Gotcha... we just left a 2003 Ford Expedition (search for my build thread - roof rack, roof top tent, etc). It’s bigness and V8 was nice for our family of 5, but ultimately led to trail limitations, and the ability to sink itself in mud because of the weight. I was also wanting to come back to...
Hello from Caldwell, Idaho.
What made you choose the Sequioa? How many people will be going with you on your trips, and what are their ages?
This info will help me answer your questions a bit easier.

What are you planning to do with it? If you follow Expedition Overland on YouTube, their primary focus is Overlanding, not wheeling or mudding, then you know they run 33" tires. They can run whatever they want, but for Overlanding they choose 33s. I realize they are not everyone's cup of tea...
I’ll let you know how mine wear... I had it aligned right after installation and it is driving straight and true now. No lift for me. Just went up from 255/70R16 to 255/75R16.

I have an older Sears Craftsman Mechanics blow molded case that is great for this kind of thing also... good suggestion...
Right now my offroad toolbag has sockets all over the place because they fell off the metal Harbor Freight clip on racks. They are super cheap and flimsy.

Older review... Many points are still valid though... It helped convince me to purchase Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires.
