I have seen people use that space to store traction boards or other flat big objects such as folding tables. Some even have items like that mounted on the bottom of the rack between it and the vehicle roof.
The purchase price of the Zoleo unit is substantially less and it has a greater battery life. Depending on how and how much you use it the Zoleo plan costs may be lower than Garmin.
If it was an on-line listing (like Autotrader) some dealers provide a link to a CarFax report for that vehicle. If so and it has somewhat a regularish maintenance history that would be a bonus as well.
Thanks for all the input. I will probably be going with some sort of nut solution to secure the light bracket to my mounting point. The lights themselves (LP4's) are mounted at a pair of horizontal pivot points to the bracket with bolts that screw into the light casing. I can't find any real...
Gold Butte has become one of my favorite places over the past year when I can’t go elsewhere in California due to fires or COVID. Whitney Pocket is sort of a mini-Alabama Hills with lots of good camp spots for groups.
I am in the process of fabricating some mounts for a pair of off-road lights on my Jeep bumper. The mounting plate itself will be pretty well secured on my winch plate or frame inside the bumper. The question is how to best secure the light bracket to that mount and then the lights to that...
Was able to escape California to Nevada the weekend before last and get a side canyon to ourselves in Logandale BLM with just enough flat space for our tent.
Well I guess we are out of a place unless we reorganize as a church or hold a sit in protest so January is ok for me as well. Our trip to Death Valley for the end of this week was postponed as the park has shutdown camping. We will be using the time to wheel around Nevada (Gold Butte / Valley...
I notice that your 37 inch tires are mounted on the stock Rubicon wheels. How did that work in general prior to your lift? Did you have clearance or rubbing issues with that setup?
The plan is to still meet at the same place. During last month's meeting Mike was talking about going to Baja for a couple of weeks starting the end of October so I am guessing the only surfing he is doing right now is on a board and not on his laptop.
I use a couple of these work LED's from Harbor Freight. They have magnetic bases so you can position them pretty much anywhere and they are very bright (with two dim levels) and they recharge fully again through USB the following day. If I need to work on the vehicle in the dark then they are...
I guess in the worst case if we top off tanks to start at Panamint Springs and Stovepipe is closed then the next opportunity to fill up would be at Beatty prior to going through Titus Canyon and that would be around 200 miles total to get to that point in the trip from the start.
I remember seeing his work when I was in photo school way back when. The great thing beyond his technical skills is his compositional skills as that has to carry the photo without color. I had just gone up to the Sierras a weekend ago to shoot the fall colors up around Bishop and while a lot...
