I agree. I’ve not done the Utah Traverse, but if you take the dirt roads, it can be a 5-day trip in itself.
Stay mostly on pavement, with a side trip or two, and you could get across in 2 easy days and have 3 days in Colorado.
I just finished the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands. My tire chains saved the day.

Your idea of just camping until the battery’s dead is a great one, too. Then divide your desired off-grid trip by that number and install that many batteries or be able to charge them that many times.

Down around Escalante the Hole In The Rock is a must see, in my opinion. It’s a 50-mile unpaved road out of Escalante to the Colorado River where pioneers in the 1880s built a wagon road down the cliff, and a ferry crossing to settle the San Juan River country.
