I spent 3 nights out there back in July. camped at batona campground with a fellow montero friend. had a great time. LSD in my truck really worked well barely had to use 4wd. only a handful of times in some of the deeper ruts. center diff locked full steam ahead haha

Maintenance! belts, hoses, tune up. Check the suspension for worn out stuff like ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks. Do a checklist of the truck THEN start with upgrades.
Cleaned up my skid plate and inner fender wells. Used this ultra matte black rattle can. Came out ok not the best but way better than rusty and faded looking.
