Seasoning a dutch oven or other cast iron pot or pan

Heat up the grill/griddle/skillet, and get it to about smoking point. Keep the heat on, and quirt some water on the surface. You will see lots of boiling and steaming when you do this (obviously). While it is still boiling and steaming, and before the water has a chance to completely...

    Camera Gear, Tires, and Secrets!

I love your videos! I might suggest trying out a 35mm lens for your 5d. I think most brands make at least one, and some are very fast at f1.4. I think that 35mm would be a pretty useful focal length for your purposes, especially on your rig walk around videos, and should be really great as a...

    Tent Heater?

Do you feel that it works well enough to significantly warm up the sleeping area in cold weather?

    Toyota FT-AC

I think it would be really cool if they incorporated some of this uni body offroad drivetrain into a mini van. It obviously wouldn't be a rock crawler, but I think it would provide sort of a best of both worlds kind of vehicle in terms of dirt road/sand-ability and family utility. Kind of like...

    Tent Heater?

Does your tent provide some sort of insulation, or is it just good at blocking off ventilation? Our tent does not have any issues with condensation, even with the heater running all night, but it is drafty as hell. On windy nights, when it gusts, you can actually feel a breeze inside the tent.

    Toyota FT-AC

I like it, it's kind of like... a Toyota Outback? Haha it's probably what the Venza or Matrix should've been from the start.

    Tent Heater?

I also use a Mr Heater (The medium size one) hooked up to a 20lb tank and a battery powered ceiling fan for down-drafting and air circulation. It is a system designed by trial and error, and lots of after-camping-trip evaluations. My conclusion thus far, is that my tent is too big. It is a...

    My First Trail Vlog

Started to watch, then kept watching as you had my interest, and ended up watching the whole video through. I really enjoyed it! Your dialogue was good, even educational, and the effort you put into the different angles and perspectives with the camera work really added some productional value...

Looking for information regarding backcountry travel and camping in Death Valley.

Holy cow! I thought that kind of stuff only happened in cartoons. I did have a rear view mirror pop off from the windshield once while on a washboard road, to which my passenger laughed hysterically for about half an hour. Never saw headlights falling off and ball joints breaking though!

Looking for information regarding backcountry travel and camping in Death Valley.

Wow... how did this happen? Did he bounce off the road from high speed driving on the wash board? Or did the truck just literally vibrate to pieces??
