If I was in your situation I would keep the 1 ton diesel.
First of all you have four people and you all are going to be way more comfortable in the 1 ton. Your kids are going to get bigger.
The 1 ton is over built and will last you a very long time.
The 1 ton is also very versatile and will...
Before you make a decision I would look at the Eibach Pro kit. Lifetime warranty. I have this kit on my 4runner with JBA upper control arms and it works well. Got everything from wheelers off road and paid them a fee to assemble the fronts for me. Great kit.
That hurricane Dorian ain't no joke anymore. 203 mph winds right now. Most powerful storm in this region. Let's pray it doesn't hit us. I feel sorry for the Bahamas. 24 hours of cat 5 winds. Insane!
Tornados?
An yes cat 5, 156mph sustained winds and above. I think Andrew had some recordings of 170mph plus sustained winds if I remember correctly. We stayed in a second story apartment and as mentioned got very lucky the storm turned south. Moved there from the north and had too much pride...
The hurricanes are cake comments are very subjective. Depends entirely on the strength of the hurricane. Just saying, a Cat 5 hurricane is not cake, it's deadly
I used to live in Florida and moved after that year we had 3 hurricanes hit us, had enough. There was only 1 that we should have evacuated for but we got very lucky as that storm moved south right before it hit Florida. That hurricane was Andrew and if it hit us I may not be typing this right...
I use a slumberjack now that I got off Amazon, it works well. A few years back I was camping with my family and the rain would not stop. Went to the store and got the biggest tarp I could find. Can't remember but it was huge, maybe 20x30. Spread it over the whole campsite and used a small...
I would not run them raw at all or without at least painting them. Since you live in such a good climate as far as metal corrosion goes, you could just paint them and probably be fine for years. Plus paint is easy to touch up. Get some good rattle can primer and then rattle can paint them the...
I have C4Fab sliders on my 4Runner and they have been solid, were easy to put on, and look good IMO. The only "gripe" I have with them is that C4Fab will not powder coat or paint them so you will have to get them powder coated or paint them on your own. I knew this going in so didn't really...
I have their sliders on my 4 as well. High quality. One thing to know is their sliders come unfinished. They do not powder coat them because they had a lot of problems with the finish getting messed up during shipping. So you will have to paint or powder coat them.
What tent is this? EDIT: never mind just saw your next post...Alucab 3. I am also looking at the Eezi-awn Blade. Thinking this setup would be ideal for my situation. A lot of cost up front but should pay for itself over the years.
Sorry to thread hijack but....trying to determine whether this mounting option would be feasible on a 5th gen 4Runner? I know the hatch wouldn't be able to open fully but need to know if it would hit the ladder or not?..thanks and sorry again for the hijack.
I have the 10x14 Kodiak also. Just a great tent. I have only used mine 3 times due to changes. I may need to find it a new home since it is basically brand new and doesn't get used. But it is a tent you could hand down to the kids, it's pretty durable.
Just picked up a Big Agnes SL2 for...
Good timing on this thread as I think this will be my next major mod along with a fridge. I think the ability to remove the second battery from the vehicle and use it portably is just smart and very useful. So I have been trying to learn and research. Here is the direction I am leaning...
I don't see a lot of complaints about the mud cuz again, mud happens. But in defense to the vendors...they paid an awful lot of money to be there and the people who put this on knew there was going to be weather and did absolutely nothing to prepare for it. They could have had a trailer full...
