This vintage of Trooper is really easy to get additional ground clearance on. Less than an hour to put Old Man Emu springs n the rear and adjust the torsion bars in front. Stock shocks still fit. Just get an alignment afterwards and you're ready to roll.
Please share the cool stuff you got or gave for Christmas. Hope everyone had a good one.
My best gift was spending time with my family. But this as a pretty cool present from my boys.
A collapsible fire pit and sign for the expedition trailer.
I rotate McManus books in me expedition trailer. Back in Junior High, our woodshop teacher was a fisherman. My best friend (who's goal back then was to be Rancid Crabtree) and I would sit in the backroom of the woodshop, tie flies and read the The Last Laugh column from the Outdoor Life...
Congrats and welcome. Those are great rigs. Pretty bullet proof and easy to work on. My son has a '98 that he has been working on. Good luck with the build.
If you have the tools and desire, I would say try to build your own. If you don't like it, you can always buy one.
Personally, I like to build things. So I scored some old 15" and 20" disc blades from my brother. Going to build 2 skottles and 3 discadas for my friends and myself.
I started out with a besic Backpacker that I bought off of Craigslist and added from there.
Flipped axle for more ground clearance
Roof rack & dual ARB awnings
Full galley with sink, running water (cold only), stove and BBQ
Solar hot water tank
Solar panel, LED lighting and is wired to plug into...
Over the years I have run Coopers, Toyo's, BFG's, GY Wranglers plus a few others. I put a set of Maxxis Razr MTs on my JK this fall and am really happy with them. They work good, are fairly quite and drive decent. I will be putting a set on the Ram next time.
My understanding is that it is closed to camping for that reason but you can still hike to it. No surprise to those of us that appreciate and respect nature that a few idiots ruin something amazing again.
Very cool, I love our central Oregon history. Headed over from Prineville. Looking forward to it. Just curious if the trails are pretty aggressive and I should leave the adventure trailer home?

My 2012. It was my 70 mile daily driver until about a year and half ago. I retired it and gave it a facelift.
Minor touch-up, polish and wax
New black front bumper with light bar, driving lights and dual Hella 6"er's.
Black grill
Rebel tow hooks
OE style black flares and splash guards

Hello fellow Oregonian. I love cooking on and in cast iron. Lots of great simple recipes out there. Lodge actually has a couple pretty inexpensive cook books for dutch ovens. Also keep an eye out at Goodwill, I have found a few old cookbooks for campfire cooking there. IMO the key to dutch oven...
The mole loops are built into the seat covers on both my Ram and Jeep. I try to replicate the same gear in the same spots in both or transfer gear between rigs depending on which one I'm taking.
My list:
Drivers side-
fire extinguisher
carabiners
gloves
winch controller
collapsible dog bowl...
