I think I’m going to be meeting some friends there on Thursday. Camp there Thursday and head back to Arcata Friday night. Saturday is the Arcata Oyster Festival and you can bet I won’t miss that. If my spot is open I’ll keep that area reserved, that specific area could fit at least 3 groups...
I was thinking of hitting a few in SoCal or the two in Oregon, but the trail rating system confuses me beyond belief. I live in NorCal we should hit a few more for sure!
I’m just curious as to which of the trails on Jeep Badge of Honor have you guys done and in what vehicles? I feel like the app itself doesn’t offer enough information about most of those trails so any first hand experience with any of those trails would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.
Ok I did it last month, didn’t go all the way to Mattole Rd. because we were trying to do it in a day. I got some good tips and waypoints on my GPS. A stock TJ will make this easily with good tires. It starts a few miles after 1 turns away from the coast towards 101. Take Usal Rd. to Usal...
I am still trying to get my schedule right before I commit to this trip, but be careful with that drive. If you want to go Usal all the way to Ferndale it will likely take the majority of the day just to get back to 101 on that route. Does your daughter go to HSU? That’s why I’m up here.

I am a novice overlander and a pretty decent off-roader, definitely looking to get into more overland style adventures.
